  • Adam's peak
     OP - September 07, 2009, 05:11 AM

I was talking to one of my uncles about Islam, and he mentioned Adam's peak Huh?
i was told that it is the place where Adam was sent down and when he landed he made a huge footprint lol?
When i did some further research on my own i found it was a mountain in Sri lanka and before Islam, the Hindu's believed it was the footprint of Krishna and later Buddhist believed it was the footprint of Buddha currently there is a Buddhist  shrine on top of the mountain where they go and pray to protect the mountain I am assuming that the mountain was probably a sacred place to the sri lankan's even way before Buddhism had arrived there, and now Muslims claim that it was Adams footprint....
has anyone else come across this absurdity from muslims  mysmilie_977

yaaaa. few problems I can think of off hand.....

-Anatomically if Adam was 90 feet tall, he would have taken a step and then crushed himself under his own weight.
-People have not been getting shorter over time, as the hadith says, but have been getting taller.
-giant human fossils, giant human tools, giant human shelters..ect. that have so far not been uncovered.

...man, I cant believe there are people who actually still believe this stuff. The mind Boggles.

The foundation of superstition is ignorance, the
superstructure is faith and the dome is a vain hope. Superstition
is the child of ignorance and the mother of misery.
