  • Back in the day musician crushes
     OP - September 20, 2009, 08:46 PM

Musicians you were once ga-ga over. Or even today, though I was goin for a more nostalgia oriented thread.

Mine, Justine Frischmann of Elastica and Suede:

Some more awesome pictures of Justine can be found here: http://www.ladiesofrock.com/Justine_Frischmann_Elastica_Pictures.html

I still get stupid and dreamy when I see pictures of her, and back in the mid 90s, she blew my fuckin mind.

Donna Matthews, also of Elastica, was pretty damn cute herself:

Donna become some kind of a Christian, Justine moved to Colorado or Utah or one of those boxy states to enroll in a degree program at some kind of Buddhist university and married one of the professors there. As far as I can tell none of the original members of the band are involved in the entertainment business (at least its unknown if they are or not), and have pretty much dropped off the face of the planet. Shame, because even being bigger rip-off artists than Led Zeppelin, like Keith Richards of the Stones, Donna and Justine made the stolen riffs their own and made them work-- I really loved that first album. Very few albums that have come out since the early 80s that I can listen to all the way through and love almost all the songs, but that was one of them.

ETA: When you post yours, pictures would be appreciated, of course.

    fuck you

As a fourteen year old in the late eighties, I had a huge crush on Sabrina Salerno. She had a one hit wonder called "Boys Boys Boys". She had the most amazing pair of tits I'd ever seen!

I've no idea who this man even is.  He's certainly not my favourite artist of all time or anything.  Embarrassed

He sang "footloose" and a track from Top Gun.

    Ian Astbury from the Cult.

Roger from Duran Duran. (Second from left)

Jim Reid from the Jesus & Mary Chain. (He's on the far right)

    Larry Mullen Jr.

Most of these guys look terrible today.  Not Mullen though.  I think when Bono and Edge were selling their souls to Satan to be the biggest band in the world, he was selling his for eternal youth.  I saw Bernard Summer from Joy Division / New Order in an interview or something this week and he looks awful.  He used to be way cute.

Stop lying Cheetah-- look, you are one of the most respected people on this forum, and admitting to people here that you love the music of Kenny Loggins and Yanni, and have sexual fantasies about the two of them, won't change that. It's okay Cheetah. Stop living the lie and come out of the closet.

    fuck you

     Cheesy

I've never heard of either of them before this thread, and I've never seen Top Gun.  I think I might have seen Footloose, was that guy from 3rd Rock From the Sun in it as a Bible belt preacher who banned dancing?

John Lithgow? Yeah, he's actually an awesome actor. Did you see him in "Twilight Zone-- The Movie"? Overall, the movie wasn't very good, but the segment with John Lithgow in the airplane with the gremlin on it was quite awesome.

    fuck you

I used to like Madonna a lot even pre-puberty! Especially that like a prayer video!

I also used to love Agnetha and Anni-Frid from Abba-but that's me, I've always had a thing for Nordo-Scanian girls!

No, I never saw it, and I didn't know his name before but I do tend to remember him in things for some reason.  Did you ever see a film called "Our Man In...." ?  It was a comedy with John Lithgow as the British Ambassador to some obscure African former colony.  Hilarious film.
