So I sent the New Humanist article on Harun Yahya to Ahmed, the man who has been trying to convert me. He replied with this:
//hi Lauren, sure there will be such untrue claims and lies said about people like Mr.Harun.In fact, i don't know him personally but i welcome any critisim about his writings without trying to hear lies about him//
and he included a link that I only started reading before wanting to headdesk:
    http://tr1.harunyahya.com/Detail/T/EDCRFV/productId/18849/

How does one deal with a person who claims that anything negative about the people they agree with is a lie?

The bolded bit says it all. Translation: you can criticise the cut of the suit Mr Yahya happens to be wearing on any day (as long as you do so politely) but everything he says is true so there.

Haha, fair enough. I take no offense--he kind of is an idiot. He seemed intelligent and open-minded until he started telling me that evolution (or Darwinism, as he called it) is false... *sigh*

Rule of thumb: anyone who uses the term "Darwinism" to describe evolution probably knows very little about it and is very likely to be immune to reason. Ditto for anyone who describes mainstream biologists as "evolutionists".

I talked to my mate about the whole darwinism crap and she said that people are darwinists...I tried to explain that evolution is actual fact and darwinism is complete crap...after a while she accepted what I was telling her, but I get the feeling she only did it to get out of the conversation.

What do you mean darwinism is complete crap?

When I see the word darwinism I read natural selection.  Is that what you mean?

Here's a funny video, Richard Dawkins on Yahya  parrot

Yep, seen this vid thought it was funny and great. I wish RD spent a bit more time debunking this idiot. HY seems to have held the Muslims captive with his non-pseudo science.
