Such as..?
Dunno-- I mean, I wouldn't murder somebody unless I really thought they had it comin to them and the world would be better off with out them. I wouldn't rape someone unless they were a rapist themselves. Other than that, nothing comes to mind. I'm sure there's other things I wouldn't do for $1.6 mil, but I can't imagine there are too many.
I'd certainly put my own life on the line for that kind of money, depending on the risk. The main concern would be taking away my disabled mother's only son, but on the other hand, I could make a really nice life for her with that kind of money, so depending on the level of risk, I'd definitely risk my life for that much money.
I make many decisions based on a risk-benefit analysis now that I'm not as impulsive as I once was, so let's game this one-- the only significant risks to dying or becoming permanently disabled that I see in this scenario are-- (1) having a heart attack, (2) missing the pool entirely and hitting my head on the pavement. Drowning seems highly unlikely, even if I'm momentarily unconscious, as I'm sure there are EMTs on hand if something goes wrong. So, given the fact that I don't have a history of heart disease, and the fact that while I'm not the most coordinated person in the world, I think I could hit the pool, that risk-benefit analysis looks pretty damn favorable at first glance, at least.
Now it's possible I'd get up there and be so terrified I'd freeze up, but you better fuckin believe I'd make my best effort to conquer my fear and do it. I did it for skydiving and I didn't have anyone paying me money to do it-- rather it was the reverse.
