There was an exodus from FFI and we were guided by our great Goddess Berberellah (swt, cc) to this oasis. History knows us as the murtad muhajjiroon. Tongue

^ Ditto.  I was an FFI regular, guided here by Berbs.

I know it must be a really stupid question, but what is exactly FFI? I can't find it online.

Btw, I found this site by googling "ex-muslims".

trumora, read the FFI website and come to your own conclusions.  Don't listen to what anyone on this forum says (that includes me).

Well actually you can listen to them, but always come to your OWN conclusions after reading the website for yourself.

You'll probably find that FFI contains some excellent articles and debates which make a lot of sense and they very convincingly refute the Islamic propaganda that Muslim proselytisers like to bombard us with.  It totally smashes Islam to pieces.

You will also probably find that in some instances, it goes too far with its criticism, almost to the point of advocating war on Muslims.

There will never be a website which we can all agree with 100%.

Some people on this forum may think that FFI is too harsh, but people on FFI probably think that this forum is too soft and naive about Islam.

I trust that we can all use our OWN brains to decide when FFI has gone too far (or when COEM has gone too far even).

That is my personal, balanced opinion of the whole thing.

I was desperate, needed someone to talk to. Someone who actually knew what I was feeling and experiencing. No one can understand an ex-Muslim except other ex-Muslims, even though I noticed that ex-JW have similar experience... I just googled "Ex-Muslims"-something-something (I think I typed discuss or forum) and this came up Smiley

This forum has been the help for me in dealing with my apostasy and the subsequent consequences thereof...

Found Hassan's video's a few months after I began having doubts about Islam. I'd say what he said in those videos were the final straw for any lingering Islamic conditioning in my mind.

    The rest is history.

Same. As a non-Muslim with no inherent ill feelings toward Muslims (I knew a bit about Islam but I also knew that Muslims don't follow the scripture to the letter) I wanted to figure out what all the fuzz about Islam was about. Found this place and things have gotten fuzzier ever since. But sliced into more manageable bits. I now observe the issues in 4D.

I found it on via the CEMB YouTube videos while researching various views put forward by Muslims regarding Islam.

The awful moment as a young Muslimah cycler when I realised that no matter how baggy my training trousers were, my curves would still show through, was the moment I found CEMB. I was googling for my favourite biking forum, the "Swamp Mountain Bike" forum and reminiscing over the old days where I'd try and perfect my form from tips posted there when up came a post from a blog titled "anti-claims". The post there was named "CEMB: A Swamp in the Shape of a Forum", and underneath the google heading, there was this excerpt:

"And now , I mention my experience with the forum named ( CEMB ) whose sole purpose is to attack Islam . The funny thing is that the most of that forum are Atheists , but we don’t find them talking about any faith but Islam ( With lies of course )"

A forum where people attack Islam? My younger self said, "Go forth and check out these awesome-sounding "enemies of Islam"!" So I did. And here I am. Now I think of it, it's pretty funny. thnkyu ally of Islam, for helping me find CEMB. I'm eternally in your debt.

I was obsessively (but disgustedly) watching 'honor crimes' on youtube and one video led me to another to another and somehow in the maze of videos (Can't recall exactly which one) I came across the term 'ex-muslim', so I went to google for help, it threw CEMB in front of me and I clicked. I had no idea there were ex-muslims. I thought it was unheard of. Suddenly I felt a glimmer of hope. Afro

Pan, that is absolutely hilarious! Cheesy

Anti-bulshit, why would one obsessively watch "honor crimes" on YouTube? Huh?

Did you miss the word "disgustedly" which followed the word "obsessively".

Maybe I shouldn't have used obsessively. Maybe I should have said documentaries on honor crime and not just videos.

But to justify my obsession, I am researching and educating myself on all things wrong with islam.

    Smiley

I was just puzzled why one would engorge in such activity as you originally described. Seeking answers to one's own experiences is of course perfectly legit in any situation Smiley

I'm a white male in Denmark and I'm used to other white males in Denmark coming (not on this site, but in debates in Denmark) and saying that they saw this and this video on YouTube and that is why we must stop immigration from Muslim majority countries. So that is my inheritance, so to say Smiley

I can't even remember. To be honest I remember a while back when I was still a Muslim, I think it was on Question time there was an ex Muslim on there, perhaps from CEMB but I can't remember. That was probably where I first heard about ex Muslims lol. Needless to say I saw it, panicked, read every single surah in the Quran I knew (all one of them), hopped around and sprayed ayat ul kursi all over the place to keep the demon out of my house...

Ahhh I read about harakaat and his death thanks to someone writing RIP on their footer (I think asbie). So sad that he took his own life, cannot imagine what he was going through to have done that...his atoms and energy have scattered the universe from where they came once more at least!

I will watch the discussion once I get home. I do recall it, and yes that is the one I watched back when I was a good 21 year old Muslim. Everyone say mashaAllah!

We have more of an ummah here with CEMB than ever before - at least here we are free to think and say and share views without the inner fear of "who will take me the wrong way? Who will get offended at my view?"
