Hi, everybody! I've never been a Muslim - although some years ago I was really close to converting but never did. I do have many Muslim friends and have studied Islam for quite a while.
I was reading the forum and think that many of you are very smart and make very good points instead of just bashing Islam so I decided to join in the discussion if I may. I think I can learn a lot from you. I also noticed that many have respect for the religion and Muslims while still criticing Islam in an intelligent way.
I used to belong to a religion from the time I was 15 until I was about 22. When I left it the reaction of people was not what I was expecting as many were very rude and terrible to the point of cursing me - literally cursing. I would meet them randomly on the street and they would cross the road and things like that
I thought that was so ridiculous. So I kinda know the feeling of leaving a group, but you all probably had a lot more trouble than I did.
Anyways, happy to be here
p.s.: I do have spiritual beliefs. So I'm not agnostic or an atheist, but I see you are a very heterogeneous group which is very nice indeed.
