    It can trick animals?

    Any fine species will be those who have barely changed over hundreds of thousands of years (crocodiles are one example IIRC)

    There are more mechanisms in evolution than just natural selection. The male bird making complex songs by imitating noises he hears is mostly a result of sexual selection. The females of the species have developed a taste for complex songs. So, any way the male bird can improve his songs can get him laid.

    And here I was expecting Os to come up with the answer.  I think you're prob right, the more complex, original or unusual would enabe it to get laid.  If it cant fly though,  I would also expect the loud noise to attract unnecessary attention
