Walking with cavemen - documentary on evolution of humans

I watched this great documentary yesterday which shows the story of the evolution from primates to humans and actually feels more like a storytale than a scientific documentary. Very interesting and highly recommended,

I watched it and didnt like it - seemed like a documentary designed for primary schools (which it in fact was!). Its pale in comparison to other series like The Great Human Journey by Dr Alice Roberts and others on YouTube.

I thought that it was going to be a documentary about some people I used to work and hang out with

I think far shorter youtube videos do a far better job of explaining it. This series seems to spend too much time making assumptions about the dialogue between Lucy and her compatriots millions of years ago, and its special effects. Its designed to make talk about science fun, rather than aiming to be a leading piece of academic research. Nothing wrong with that though

By showing the supposed interactions between lucy and her family it teaches about the known behaviors of the species though:
- They had bonding like humans
- How the rival apes behaved towards each other
- How they mated
etc

And same goes for all the other species and how they acted towards each other, etc.

Yes but by creating fictitous scenarios and fictitious verbal dialogues just made it lose its scientific integrity for me. Each to his own I guess..
