LOL, nothing to do with my apostasy nor with my family being suspicious at all! Just wanted to share with you one of my favorite "Elvis the Pelvis" greatest song ever!

    Both great. But my favorite:

I find this video interesting because it looks like the first time he performed the song live. He says it's new at the beginning and to forgive him if he screws up (and he actually has to look down at a lyric sheet several times). Good find by someone on YouTube.

Fat Elvis caught a lot of shit for many years, but I think Fat Elvis kicks ass. He still had plenty of energy and although his sound wasn't new anymore, his later songs reflected his maturity-- much more complex lyrically and musically while still managing to be kick-ass rock-and-roll, not self-important, constipated prog rock/arena rock shit. Sure he went over that line a couple of times late in his career, but for the most part he managed to stay just on the other side of that line up til the end.

    fuck you

If he was alive today he would have been doing Johnny Cash American Recordings type shit. Really great, raw, primal, heart breaking, melancholy, uplifting, amazing excursions into the roots of American music.

Elvis would have been a great old fella.
