    Compared to all the religions in the world, do you consider Islam to be the worst in terms of ethical values, logical sense and overall impact on the believer?

    I'm kind of stuck between the first two but I went for the second just not to be too harsh. I'm sure if I was born during the 18th century in Europe Christianity would probably been equally as shit.

    I simply don't know enough about other religions, especially their various manifestations.

    To be honest I just realised how much I hate religion in general especially organised religion. However I am more against Islam because it has a political dimension.

    The imbedded legal and political concepts really does make Islam definitely in the top of the shit list.

    Shittiest religion ever? Dunno-- too much world history I'm ignorant of, although I'd probably be comfortable saying it's the shittiest major religion right now, and probably over the last few decades as well.

    Ye I can't actually just toss it in the heap of bullshit because Islam is practised as a way of life in Islamic countries so Muslims are restricted to live a certain way. To most religion I would be like 'your religion does not make any sense, its is sexist, unjust, intolerant, and blah blah.' With Islam it's the same thing as previous but with 'and on top of this u wna impose this as law on people, u must be on crack mate. Oh no wait you're on religion. My mistake.'

    Not just in the past. There are several minor religions in existence today that are much worse than Islam-- Christian Identity for example. Though it's hard for me to think of any major religions that are worse than Islam at the present time.

    I've got to say, those Aztecs must have been onto something with the old cutting the hearts out of living men to appease the Sun God routine.

    Anyway, Egyptian religion was the best religion of all time, go jump in a river if you disagree, their shit was great.

    Hmm... I wouldn't choose any of those options :p

    I'm not a big fan of organized religion in a general way.

    Mormons "worry" (for the lack of a better word) me a little. I find it very off. And a friend of mine went to a Mormon wedding and said that the things the "pastor" (or how they call) told the bride creepied him out. I read a part of their book and it is..... interesting?

    I don't have much knowledge on the rest of the religions, but I wouldnt say Islam is the worse one out there. It has strict guidelines and at times demands absolute precession, which is fucking crazy i.e how to live your life step by step [wash your hands this many time and face that many time for, eat with your right hand, and all that detail... followed by a major, wtf?]. Regardless, It does have a REALLY horrible reputation worldwide, that too mostly due the media/ extremist/mullahs who preach outta context/cling onto religion to closely.
     There's no such thing as a perfect religion, I think its wrong to bash on just one religion....they are all fruitloops out there   wacko

    Btw, here we use the term "Shiite" to say that someone is strict about something like "she's a vegetarian shiite". I think it's a terrible expression, a lot of misunderstanding. But do you guys use that too?

    I think Islam is less flexible about discarding or reforming its stupidities than other religions, hence it can seem the most crazy. Not just that, but it honestly believes it is on a mission for mankind and spreads its unreformed submission as though its the salvation of morons living in ignorance.

    Its like - your religion is a mental hospital on fire, and you're knocking on the doors of your neighbours 'inviting' them into your lunatic asylum. First of all, put the fire out in your place. Then seek cures for the lunatics in your hospital.

    Other religions tend to be more circumspect and humble and embarassed about their innate contradictions and they do something about it.

    Islam kind of like runs through the streets with an axe in its hand and its trousers around its ankles screaming "Look at me! Look at me! Stop denying I'm the best you horrible kuffar! Woo hoo! I'm the religion of peace!"

    I see no difference between Islam and the Old Testament when it comes to ethical values. So I wouldn't single out Islam as the most shit religion--not when you have Westboro Baptists Church running around.

    ^^^ Those guys are lunatics - but I guess we're talking about mainstreams of religions.

    Put it this way - any religion that actually says in its mainstream teachings without any sense of shame or embarassment that anyone who leaves the religion deserves to die, and actually uses this as a coercive pressure to prevent people from dissenting, wins the crown.

    You know when I watched that first, there is another part of that same interview of the girls when they are asked if they ever had a boy interest. Their body language clearly shows a hesitance to answer the truth, but they answer no because their only love is god.

    This made me wonder, do they still have their V-card? Cause if not, I'd like to take it.

    it's funny how for the very same reason Islam can be seen as the best and worst religion and that is the fact that it is incapable of change and modernity

    For practising muslims this can be a great tonic, they see how other religions have been diluted and ridiculed to the ground and ever more proud of their still standing stagnant culture, as if living like it is still 7th century arabia is somehow the ultimate that life can offer

    for the rest of us, however,  we can see its inability to let go of ancient ethical and philosophical structures is the reason it is so distasteful

    The Aztecs were serious biz. It wasn't just the hearts stuff. They used to do all sorts of things for various gods, and most of them were nasty.

    i think the important reason why i voted for Islam to be the worst is not because its beliefs are any more ridiculous than others
    the fact is, as billy says, the aztecs were far worse in their beliefs about sacrifices
    however, we've come a long way as a species and in today's modern world the only belief system that is still clinging to the past and violently refusing to let go is Islam and that is why it is worse than all the others

    humanity could be forgiven its barbarity in its infant and barbaric past, but the modern day human should know better and muslims have no excuse
