    Are there any new species? What is the latest specie?

    What is the latest step in evolution for humans? Comparing say with 20 000 years ago, or 10 000 years? Or even earlier maybe? Basically, how have we evolved since?

    Yep, spot on IsLame. Flu viruses are living proof of evolution. Also, the newly emerging bacteria all the time. The ones that learn to become more and more resistent to antibiotics.  Afro

    the best example of human evolution is the recent discovery of resistance to Kuru in cannabalistic peoples of papua new guineawho often ate brains of the deceased. this IIRC is an encephalopathy type disease like CJD, as is always fatal.
    over the space of 50 years humans there has developed a community of people who are now resistant to kuru.

    this is currently the most obvious example of evolutionj in action

    BTw there may be minor details that need checking with shaykh googleas i'm posting from my shitty phone and havent had time to check the minutiae

    otherwise search 'evolution in action' on google. Their are probably a lot of different examples of microevolution and macroevolution.

    If you look at your genetic pool and compare it with your parents you would see that you have evovled or changed Smiley . The ability to digest lactose is an example of evolution among humans. Most small changes does however not result in huge physical changes, but every mutation which could be specially benificient is likely to survive and spread. Lactose-toleration is an example of this (read more). In Africa groups have developed an immunity towards malaria, cause this mutation benifitted them (read more). There are tons of examples like these.

    you may be right there. mind you i can't seem to do it without inserting a typo, joiningwords together or paying no attention to structure grammatical

    Can you guys elaborate something for me please? Why is it that almost every non-muslim I met accept evolution and say its a proven fact, yet Muslims who MAJOR in biology say "ohhhhh its not proven, its a lie and political propoganda!!" Why are there two completely different camps? No offense, but do Muslims fall asleep during the evolution unit in class? Why can't they just admit that evolution is scientific fact? Is it so damn hard? Also, every Muslim I have met who does accept evolution as fact are either not very practicing, or do not take the Qur'an 100% literally.

    Unfortunately evolution isn't really taught very much, nor very well. Even medics spend less than an hour of their 5 year course on evolution....

    The same goes for Christians. It's actually a matter of a difference in the proportion of literalists and non-literalists.

    Those who are studying in the field are trying to become doctors.. and ironically the field of medicine does not require an intimate knowledge of evolutionary theory. Muslims in general have not gotten the same scientific ass kicking the way Christians have. But if these Muslims start spouting their islamic creationist shit too publically they will be in for a rude awakening.

    When I was a believer I was the same. I believed the Quranic stories of Adam and Eve were metaphorical about the human soul. Being a student in electrical engineering at the time, I was always a bit surprised that I had more knowledge about evolution and natural selection than most of the doctor-wannabe musulmans that I knew.

    Well, Thanks folks.  I'm just emerging from my annual  chrysalisation (I think that's the word).  The old ticker feels 10 years younger.  Think 'retirement' and 'fishing' - how's that for evolution!
