He obviously doesn't believe or worship a higher power. Does he seriously believe he came from nothing? Where does he get his morals? Does he really believe he just came from chance?

Whoa, I never invented this, its just part of the infinite regressive argument against god.

Was reading the God Delusion last night and thought about all the questions that believers ask (meaning of life and how it all came to be) and was thinking God, being a conscience entity, would need to ask those questions too.. unless he believes he came from nothing.

This all reminds me of that song 'If God had a face what would it look like and would you want to see it' you know the one. But theists would saywe shouldn't apply human attributes to God. But God didn't make man in his image, man made God on his image. Having said that God must do something for pleasure to pass the time. Do what does he do. Does he create female Gods to fuck or is that just for humans. Does he create planets to put people on so he can test them?

Take the Pakman challenge and convince me there is a God and Mo was not a murdering, power hungry sex maniac.

I have already questioned many creationists that if something cannot exist without a creator, then who created God?

Their replies are pointless, usually 'Nothing created God, God is the force that created everything else'.

One would have to be completely braindead not to see the hypocrisy in that.

We keep hearing about how Jack Straw or the French government have mentioned the veil and our doing so puts us in the same boat as them. How so? I want a ban on the burka, neqab and child veiling.

This is really no argument at all, transcendence doesn't have to have anything in common with our reality. Anything that can be said about the ineffable must begin with an assumption that a metaphysical position is being taken and that there is an inherent approximation and interpretation involved. To ask of "god" to be transcendent and to comply with rules of causality is a non-argument.

The nature of that which is completely exclusive to none but its ownself and relevant and in a relation to all else in a manner of none but its own and to which it is not to its ownself as well, is simply that.

So to speak of anything otherwise by the conditions that has already been mentioned is rascaldom.

Let us take two numbers 10 and 1

the relationship between 10 and 1 being 10 - 1 = 9

the relationship between 10 and its ownself being 10 - 10 = 0

just because one(a person) cannot arrive with the same value by substracting 10 with itself as one does with by substracting 1 from 10 does not mean the nature of 10 in relation to itself is wrong/invalid/false.

What ever it is, it is not the Abrahamic, Hindi, Greek, Mayan, or any other Gods humans have invented! That is for sure.

that's a perfectly fine position ribs, my point was more that while you can have a conception of the transcendental for yourself, it is pointless to criticise anybody else's vision about it especially when you are trying to make it fit into your preconceived concepts of "natural law" and "causation."

OK, I get what you mean! I am not disagreeing with you...

But usually there are concepts that are more plausible than others, at least according to our limited brain/understanding.

I mean we can agree that a kindergarten teacher should not punish a 4 years old boy if he was asked to explain how an airplane can fly and could not answer, or asked about how clouds form and what makes rain fall. Like wise, how can God (if it existed) punish people for not believing in something that lies beyond their capabilities?

The usual answer is God is spiritual whereas we and the creation are material. All things material are finite with a beginning and an end. However the spiritual is eternal, never born never die, never created.

Because we are finite we cannot truly understand the transcendant nature of Allah/God. But we can realise his presence through prayer.

Knowing Islam is the only true religion we do not allow propagation of any other religion. How can we allow building of churches and temples when their religion is wrong? Thus we will not allow such wrong things in our countries. - Zakir Naik
