    Definitely going to see this in the first opportunity I have. Avatar can wait.

    Seems no nearby cinema is showing it, was it released earlier/later for the UK?

    TAIPEI — A 42-year-old Taiwanese man with a history of high blood pressure has died of a stroke likely triggered by over-excitement from watching the blockbuster "Avatar" in 3D, a doctor said Tuesday.

    The man, identified only by his surname Kuo, started to feel unwell during the screening earlier this month in the northern city of Hsinchu and was taken to hospital.

    Kuo, who suffered from hypertension, was unconscious when he arrived at the Nan Men General Hospital and a scan showed that his brain was haemorrhaging, emergency room doctor Peng Chin-chih said.

    "It's likely that the over-excitement from watching the movie triggered his symptoms," he told AFP.

    Kuo died 11 days later from the brain haemorrhage, and the China Times newspaper said it was the first death linked to watching James Cameron's science-fiction epic "Avatar".

    Film blogging sites have reported complaints of headaches, dizziness, nausea and blurry eyesight from viewers of "Avatar" and other movies rich in 3D imagery.

    I remember a guy laughing his way in to a heart attack once, watching Morcambe and Wise.  His widow sent them a thank you note, hopefully for making him die happy.

    The film was released last year (in the UK). It's just been released on DVD and I just bought a copy from HMV. However, the ODEON have a showing this Thursday at 11:00am in their larger cinemas.

    Thanks, I didn't expect it to be on DVD already. I just ordered it now from Amazon.
    I checked the nearby towns'/cities' cinemas and no theater close enough shows it.

    I actually missed the original showing hence did a search. I think it is only the Odeon that are re-showing, and only this Thursday. It's on in Birmingham and some places in London. You may need to search for the nearest large city, else wait for Amazon to deliver!

    After reading the book, I really wanted to see it in the theater, but the more I found out about the graphic portrayal of the actual stoning, the more hesitant I became. The DVD should be coming out in March.

    Watched this movie... meh. It was fairly aimless, and badly structured and focused way too much on Darwin's psycho drama instead of his book or theory.

    yes, although it was an interesting biography of his own personal emotions, i would have appreciated more on his ideas aswel
