    On a symbolic level Avatar depicts the struggle of American Natives among other things.
    Considering what really happened back then the following would be a more accurate presentation, not to mention the fact that "Avatar Blues" (http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/promoting-hope-preventing-suicide/201001/avatar-blues) would be avoided.

    Hell Yeah!!!!

    I loved that film and even tolerated the Romantic storyline and my mate going "awwwwwwwwwww, that's sweet" and all the bollocks that goes with it. Not bad violence either. All that flying around a slaying people and the destruction and the death and .......Im getting carried away.

    Would be brillaint if they made this into a book with the original ideas instead of the movie as a guideline.

    Wow....that would have a been a decent film. Dunno if it would have been better, maybe it would. If it gives more violence then that is always a plus, but I dont like the addition of another romantic bit for Grace...fuck that! lol

    I still think the end outcome was awesome.

    Screw the romance, it was the fantasy world that hooked me.  The connection with the planet, sticking your hair in plants, flying on huge winged beasts, hunting and shit, all designed to capture my interest.

    The romance is just too typical, foreign man bangs local chick and falls for the local way of life.

    Its interesting, but I got distracted by the opening paragraph where he describes Terminator Salvation as "okay."  Okay  Huh?  If by okay he means an absolute pile of excrement then yes I agree, it was okay.

    Lol I thought it was okay too, not as great as I had hoped for, but it wasn't as bad as other films.

    Hell yeah, another movie where Christian Bale does his Batman voice.

    He didnt even spare Public Enemies where he put the Batman voice on for a little bit. Dipshit cant act. lol
    Its all Bale-mania....that's the reason he got the fucking roles.

    Queen of the Damned is nearly as bad, I'll grant you that.  At least it has Stuart Townsend with his top off though.   Christian Bale didn't even strip for us.   finmad

    Little details that made the film more cool

    When I first saw the trailer in HD back in November I had really high expectations as far as the final product was concerned, especially because Sigourney Weaver was involved.
    I even went to BFI IMAX in order to enhance the experience.
    What I got instead was an utterly simplistic space Pocahontas/Dances with Smurfs with a lame pseudoeco anti-human and anti-imperialist message designed to cover as much demographics as possible.
    The characters were one dimensional and shallow, the narrative was naive at best and the whole movie was totally uninspiring.

    Visual effects were stunning though and I wasn't bored, but that is about it.

    I really loved the movie. There were rubbish things about it... the typical 'americanified' aspect is quite off putting, but the entire world, the various concepts, animals and outstanding graphics really got me hooked. It would be great if it was made into a book and I hope any sequels will have a better storyline.

    There were many things that really resonated with me, like respect for the other life forms they share the planet with, even if they have to kill them for food.

    I confess I sort of burst out crying when the planet decided to fight back because as a kid I always fantasized about our Earth and all the other animals fighting back and resisting the human virus and the destruction wrecked on the environment, people who torture and maim creatures for sport or fun etc. and I dreamt of standing side by side to help them. It was so emotional to see something in my head as a child come to life on the big screen!

    Why are you guys all longing the film out for? It was a good film. Get over it.....shit. It coulda been better.......but we can say that about so many other things.

    Why pick something that you actually didnt mind and then tear it apart?
