  • Age distribution of ex-muslims here
     OP - February 12, 2010, 06:42 PM

Was bored and I just wanted to get any idea of the age distribution amongst ex-muslims here. I expect the trend to get younger as more Muslims get educated and so on.

Good to see the number of apostates highest amongst the younger people Smiley

I bet the 3rd-4th generation from now will be 40-50% apostates if not more?
  • Re: Age distribution of ex-muslims here
     Reply #14 - February 12, 2010, 09:34 PM

I dont think you can necessarily extrapolate that younger people are more likely to apostacise from the stats alone.  There are other things like internet & forum usage amongst different age groups that would also affect these stats..

damn z10 you are young, i thought you were much older... well there is still time for reality to kick and change that philosophical mind of yours  grin12

btw do you recommend a good start book? that teaches you philosophers, philosophy and also questions and mind games to make you think

haha, i'll take that as a compliment
actually, i was just recommending this to omar, as a good starting place you should read "The Story of Philosophy" by Will Durant. It's what made me fall in love with the idea of an examined and reasoned life.

The age range I expect will be mostly young since:
    - it gets harder for the mind to escape Islam as time passes (and so I actually think it's admirable the more mature people who can escape).
    - youngsters have more free time to think about things (not to mention surf on the internet)
    - have slightely more open minds
    - are growing up in an age there is enough information out there to conclude Islam really isn't true ... noticed the two faces on a UK ?10 note? The Queen and ... yes exactly, even the Bank of England wants people to snap out of it and accept Darwinism!

Ha! I like the way each category goes up 5 years then when it gets to 40 it's like; "Meh, fuck it! ALL old bastards here!"

Yes, I have noticed before that we have a lot of youngsters (youngsters = in their 20s or younger).

Leaving Islam after one has invested a great deal of one's life as a Muslim is not easy and few will do it - no matter what they think privately.

Its already been a little more than a full year (Dec 2008 - Jan 2009 period) since I renounced Allah and everything the bastard stands for in the eyes of many.
