  • The Universe is only 4,137 years old!
     OP - February 14, 2010, 02:39 PM

    Quote
If we believe Quranic creation theory, or Biblical genealogy then, the age of this whole universe is less than five thousands year old. Islamic scriptures say that Allah has created this heaven and earth, from nothingness, within six days and after that He created Adam, the first human being; and Prophet Muhammad was the 90th descendant of Adam. According to calculation, considering 30 years to be the age difference between two successive generations, Allah created this heaven and earth only 4,137 years ago. On the contrary, geological experts say that the earth is more than 4.5 billion years old. Question is who is right about it? Allah was right or the modern scientists are right?

And again the it comes down to the age old question... God or Science?  lipsrsealed

I mean, does it make any sense for the Earth to be 4,137 years when we have been hearing from almost everywhere that it is a lot more years than that? At least I don't feel that sounds right but who am I to talk, the scientists can say better  Afro.

Young Earth Christians say that the Earth and Universe was made 6000 years ago taking a literal interpretation of the bible.

However this video makes that claim look VERY VERY silly.

I can't believe that Young Earth Creationists actually exist. I mean evolution deniers, yeah believable, but YECs? WTF are these people thinking, if at all.

BTW where is this '90th descendant' thingy mentioned?
I'm pretty sure it isn't in the Qur'an, is it in a hadith or something?

Please provide us with a verse describing how Adam ended up on this Earth. And oh will you're at it, please describe when this was (date), where it was. How he and Eve survived. How they had two sons and maybe two daughters. And we all came from the same 2 people. And how we managed to multiply and settle Americas, Australia, Siberia and Japan.

Please prove Adam and Eve existed, their descendants existed. Please prove what language they used. And how they spread messages and teachings to next generation? Was it by word of mouth? If so what language. Please explain how and why we have so many different languages then.

According to islamic tradition you have a direct lineages from Muhammad to the first prophets. Feel free to count the number of persons between Adam and Muhammad. See the image below:

I don't need answers to all the questions you have asked, I believe in what is revealed to me by God, The Quran.
.  The questions you asked seems like you know about everything, but you just don't believe it. If you don't believe it that is your problem.

Even if I tell  you how they ended up here, you would still argue with me, so to put you in a right direction believe in whatever you like and we shall just wait.

You are of course right. You do not need to answer anything. But you are the one that one that questioned this thread. Now I agree I don't think it can be proven that the earth and universe is that young in the Quran. But saying that it's 4 billion years old leave you with a dilemma. Since Adam was the first human being and we have the Biblical account and the Tafsirs and hadith which have the genealogy traced to Mohammad. One can kind of measure how long humans have been around. It's sort of like the Bible.

Let me ask you something, what is the purpose of the brain? Why would God give us this organ?

You mean Adamu? O wait, you're talking biblical, Mari isn't biblical, its pagan mesopotamian.

The sad thing is, the country I live in is run by these people who think the earth isn't very old. I've held stuff older than their earth, at a museum where they sold arrowheads in which they sold that were recovered on digs. It was from the first settlers in my area way back.

It is not the way you live your life that is important, it is how well you enjoy it that matters.

Yes these islamic scholars some time talk nonsense and try  put their mouth where it does not belong.  Just like the chart they built, it can not be taken seriously. If quran does not say anything, then that's the final verdict.

Purpose of brain? A doctor would answer it better then me according to his/her knowledge, rest of the mysteries lies behind this brain is known to its Creator. I will still input what i know about it.

I will think of it as a command center of a body, what we do is usually decided in the brain, specially the forelock (front of head).
I think the brain is link to soul, and the soul is the Lord of the body and organs are his servants.
If we want to do something it is first executed in brain and then carried out by our organs, so it is an essential part of human body. Without a command center an army would be lost.

Rest in The Quran God told us that He will seize (probably Abu Jahl) by the forelock, a lying and sinful forelock.  Examining this verse, scientist found that "the frontal lobe was found to be the part lying behind".

[96.15] Indeed, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock,
    [96.16] a lying, sinful forelock.

On top of that brain has links  to all parts of body, specially eye , ear , hand etc.
The brain is indeed a blessing from its Creator, a submitted command center to its soul with submitted army to control.
