I don't like any of the parties in Pakistan. They are all scumbags. Tehreek e insaf seem to be quite popular with the people though and Imran Khan seems like he genuinely cares about the future of the country.
I personally like Hasan Nisar. I know he's a journalist & obvioulsy not a poltician but I like his secularist views. I also like the fact that he likes a drink or two- lol.

One has to elect some one with in SCUM BAGS.. but you gave me the answer., well the fact you like  Hasan Nisar  tells me you are supporting Imran Khan. And I too., My only worry is there is NO 2nd one in that party after that guy.  So hope is with in a year he will make some constitutional reforms and bring some institutions that would give the country political stability..

But it is hard to predict anything...

Elevation of Pakistan's Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf's son-in-law as executive director of the World Bank in Washington DC.

    Quote
“The fact of the matter is that Mr Azim-ul-Haq has been appointed as alternate executive director,” said a report submitted to the court by Deputy Attorney General Dil Muhammad Khan Alizai on behalf of the economic affairs and establishment divisions.

The World Bank executive director had made the appointment after accepting the nomination sent to the bank, the report said. The three-page report was submitted a day ahead of the hearing of the matter by a three-judge bench headed by Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali. On Dec 19, the court had asked Azim-ul-Haq as well as Establishment Secretary Taimoor Azmat and Finance Secretary Wajid Ali Rana to appear before it on Friday, along with the record and details about the appointment.

The court had taken a suo motu notice of the elevation of Mr Haq when he was tipped for the coveted post by the prime minister by exercising his discretionary powers.  According to media reports, the quick promotion of Mr Haq to the top post in a few years during which he had been elevated from grade-18 to grade-21 has raised many eyebrows and caused heart burning among government officials.

The finance ministry, according to the reports, had opposed the nomination though the summary for his appointment had been moved by the Economic Affairs Division.

Azim-ul-Haq, an officer of the Income Tax Group, was working in grade-18 when the PPP came to power in March 2008. He quit the job and was hired by the Employees Old-age Benefit Institution (EOBI) in grade-20 about two years ago.  Soon after Raja Ashraf assumed the PM’s office, Mr Haq was promoted to grade-21. Since then he has been serving in the Prime Minister’s Secretariat as additional secretary.

The government report further clarified that the government of Pakistan, including the prime minister, had no role in the appointment which had been made by the World Bank and Mr Haq assumed the charge after all necessary formalities had been completed........

That is how  International banks work with LANDS OF FUCKING POOR..  loan some 500 million dollars with exuberant interest rates and appoint sons  of PRIME THIEVES as  Directors of world bank..  Country has to pay that back some how.. How ? Tax the fucking poor  to death  that  are buying Milk..Rice.veggees to with day to day allowances.. ..

Musharraf’s party plans ‘historic welcome’  says news

ISLAMABAD: Pakistani lawmakers on Monday repeated their call for former military ruler Pervez Musharraf to be arrested and tried for treason on his return home from self-imposed exile in Dubai. Meanwhile, All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) Central Information Secretary Aasia Ishaq said that preparations are in full swing to accord a historic welcome to their party chief.

People of Karachi will receive the APML chief in an unprecedented historic manner, said Aasia while talking to a delegation of the party’s office-bearers belonging to Hyderabad. Musharraf has said he will return next Sunday to contest elections that are expected in May. “I am arriving in Pakistan on March 24th. I need your support,” Musharraf said on his Facebook page early Monday, but lawmakers demanded his immediate arrest.[/quote]

APML Central Information Secretary Aasia Ishaq

    Quote
Aasia Ishaque, Central Secretary Information APML on Saturday has presented this suggestion to government in a statement issued here from Central Secretariat of APML. She said that Pervez Musharraf had introduced a problem-solving local government system in 2001, which was accepted by all the provinces simultaneously. “This local government system was run successfully and people who represented the grass levels had served the common people”, she added.

APML central leader said that elected people had been given the full opportunity to bring change in the lives of their voters and they had proved this too.
She further said that Local Government System 2001 was very handy and represented by people from grass root level. This system was working on permanent basis but discontinued just because of some minor political oppositions. ..

It is true Pervez Musharraf  did very STUPID mistakes which in fact cost him his own job and Pakistan paid heavy price.,  but he is the one who empowered media and made Free from Govt control  in Pakistan.. he is the one who empowered women folks in Pak Government and he is the one who initiated  to solve all problems with India..

You guys are born with same dna as most north indians and after you learn islam everything else changes...to me i only see different lifestyles and tastes of people with same dna.
i dont care about the "muslims" of the subcontinent getting together.. coz most of them are gullible and illiterates. They will create more nuisance if they join hands.
Musharaf is a Muppet with a short sight he has proved his impulse and short shortsightedness with kargil adventure.

I would go to the new age +liberals+atheists in pak...team with them...i would tell them that the only way to break free with the problems is to suffocate the politians with overdose of islam...
    so..
    1) drop liberalism and go totally insane radical islam..
    2) start pushing sharia in top gear this will suffocate the filthy rich politians and thier rich kids will never turn to pak and enter politics..and they'll all run away to usa for good.
    3) once you have politians out and mullahs ruling..most western countries would leave you alone.
so, you ll have liberals pretending as pro sharia +mullahs+talibans and sheeple.
Then you let them run the country to stone age.
you may not get the country you like you imagined.. but atleast this way you can avenge yourself from corrupt politics....and how bad could it be under shariya ...its divine law afterall.

this way the ship will sink faster and ..most of you will get refuge in a better place.

fogot one thing... once you get shariya...western powers will invade coz u have nukes...so you 'll be free'd from shariya too...after they spend thier resources to clean your country of both politians and mullahs...the liberals come back to power..

any ways.. Zubeida Mustafa writes about Parween Rahman with a heading " Rest in peace, little sister

    Quote
I NEVER had a younger sister but at some stage, I can’t recall when, a woman entered my life to fill the vacuum I had always felt. Actually she was my friend Aquila’s “little” sister and so charming were her ways that we became connected. She brought sunshine into my life as she did into the lives of many others.

This little sister of mine — Parween Rahman — was shot dead last Wednesday leaving not just her family and supporters devastated. The whole country — in fact the community of caring social workers the world over — is mourning her loss.

There was something about Parween. Anyone who met her was attracted by her cheerful disposition and warm, caring nature. Her versatile personality allowed her to strike an immediate equation with people of all ages and background who met her. Her witty retorts followed by her musical laughter have now been silenced for ever. That really hurts.

Why should anyone want to touch a gentle soul like her who was incapable of doing anyone any wrong? Why? Why? Why? was the question asked in the hundreds of messages that poured in.

Najma Sadeque, who is the postmaster of my favourite email circulation list that reaches thousands of people, had circulated 70 messages expressing shock and sorrow within a few hours of the brutal killing. The number of people who visited Parween’s modest home in Karachi’s Gulistan-i-Jauhar area was unbelievable — some had travelled all the way from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to pay homage and then made their return journey home.

This is a manifestation of the huge number of lives she touched and that provides the answer to the question that is being asked about the motive behind her killing. She had forged a bond with the people she worked with and this would have been reason enough for unscrupulous vested interests, which abound in this unfortunate land of ours, to eliminate her...

She was an angle of Karachi.. what has she done to deserve such death? that soul never hurt a chicken...  where is allah.. where is god..??/

Elections in Pakistan...the game starts.. ECP prepares schedule: Countrywide polls on May 11 says news

    Quote
ISLAMABAD: In what is perceived to be a move to stop rumour mills from casting doubts about general elections, President Asif Ali Zardari announced on Wednesday that the nation would go to the polls on May 11 to elect the National Assembly.  Presidency’s spokesman Senator Farhatullah Babar said the president announced the date soon after a summary had been received from the prime minister.

After the announcement, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) swung into action and prepared the election schedule to be formally announced on March 23. According to the schedule, returning officers will issue a public notice on March 24 of the dates specified by the commission for respective constituencies.

Nomination papers will be received from March 25 to 30 and their scrutiny will be held from March 31 to April 6. April 10 will be the last date for filing appeals against rejection or acceptance of appeals by returning officers and the appeals will be decided by election tribunals by April 17.
