    Unfortunately, those two attitudes are not that contradictory.
    If women are considered so awesome and special, then it makes sense that men try to regulate their existence as if they were a resource.

    Getting rid of the "women are special and need to be protected" attitude is rather necessary if we want women to be considered "normal humans".
    Do not look directly at the operational end of the device.
