Theme Changer

    MoeAlharbi is running Safari on Mac 10.58 and is getting the front page collapsing when he logs in.

    I can't duplicate the problem on Safari 4 on Windows and don't have a Mac to test on.

    Yes, I have been having this problem for the last few days. I am on a pc using the latest opera. I can't get the front page to either load or for the left-side navigation area with the shoutbox or the recent threads tab to open.

    Weird. I can't duplicate this on Opera 10.5 either. Not on my admin account and not on this normal member test account.

    I assume you are aware that the side panel is now collapsed and expanded by clicking the left edge of your screen? You should be able to see a dark bar about 25px wide on hover.

    Yes, I see the dark bar but I've been clicking it for a few days it isn't expanding...

    Try selecting one of the other themes for me and see if you still get a problem.

    just tried all the themes, didn't work.

    I'm sorry for the trouble, you don't really have to find a solution, I'm coping fine without the shoutbox  cool2

    Nah, I want it fixed mate. I like things to work. There will be a solution. It's just a matter of finding it. Wink

    Ok so just to clarify: the other themes don't have the left-edge-of-the-screen clicky bit yet. They still rely on the little +/- icons above the panel, or next to the menu, depending on the theme.

    Also whichever theme you are using the front page should be fine. If that is still playing up on other themes that would point to a problem in the block coding.

    No, all the themes for me have the left-edge-click thing (that isn't responding to my clicks).

    And the homepage is messed up on all the themes too.

    Eh? They can't all have it. It's coded directly into the template for the site's default theme and hasn't been added to any of the others. I just double checked and they don't have that code. I can't see the dark bar on any of the other themes at all.

    Hey you are trying a different theme? Not just one of the variations of the site default? The site default has eleven variations (linked from those buttons above the header) but they are all the same theme. That's why I gave you a link to one of the separate themes.

    Ok, my mistake, sorry for that.

    I just tried the theme you linked and the homepage isn't working. There is no bar on the left hand side and no shoutbox either.

    Not much point. If it doesn't work on that one it wont be better on the others. Thanks anyway. This is an odd one for sure. I'll nail it sooner or later.

    I'm going to disable some front page blocks and see if I can narrow this down a bit.

    ETA: Switched off the front page news widgets temporarily. I might revert the code changes in the site default theme too and see if that helps.

    Well at least it prompted me to get rid of a few validation errors I knew about but had been to lazy to fix for ages.
