It's purely how I understand it. Unless you understand something different. Theists believe the universe came out ex-nihilo. Everything could have existed at a single point. I'm not big on cosmology or physics. It's just the way I understand it.

Not all theists believe in Creation Ex-Nihilo.

I know muslims believe it to be ex-nihilo and I think the christians do too. There might have been exceptions within the muslims community, such as Ibn Rushd.

Humm I'm just glad Aristotle didn't claim his ideas were from God and were infallible.

So once again I'm left with the classic Irish man's dilemma, do I eat the potato or do I let it ferment so I can drink it later?

Typical 'prophet' mentality.  These people seem to think that you have swapped one prophet or hero for another.

Can anyone explain me the EXPANDING UNIVERSE thing.

Can anyone say what it really means, Debunker in another thread said that the verse was precisely saying WE CONTINUE TO EXPAND IT also referring to God as the expander.

Can anyone post a translation from a dictionary what that word means and why did they translate IN VAST EXTENT in the past and now Expanding.

Also is the Verse referring to the SKY or the Universe and what is the difference between Sky and Universe ? and if the same word can be used for the sky and universe then how do u make this difference.

it is just so bad that in an Ex Muslim Forum u can't find anyone who knows or has a dictionary which can check all these specific words what they really meant in the past like 13th Century or the earlier the better and compare it to the modern translation and when did the translation change ?

Ok guys i found a quote from the Quran which 'apparentely' implies that Allah is talking about dinosaurs please reply and come up with an argument against this.
Behold! in the creation of the heavens and the earth; in the alternation of the night and the day; in the sailing of the ships through the ocean for the profit of mankind; in the rain which God Sends down from the skies, and the life which He gives therewith to an earth that is dead; in the beasts of all kinds that He scatters through the earth; in the change of the winds, and the clouds which they Trail like their slaves between the sky and the earth;- (Here) indeed are Signs for a people that are wise. (The  Quran, 2:164)"
    and
"He created the heavens without any pillars that ye can see; He set on the earth mountains standing firm, lest it should shake with you; and He scattered through it beasts of all kinds. We send down rain from the sky, and produce on the earth every kind of noble creature, in pairs. (The Noble Quran, 31:10)"
