All of that, but she did it by whipping up the Tory Christian right into a hysteria about Christianity being under attack by 'militant secularists'. She is a reactionary who was sly and cynical in inciting religious identity politics and was prepared to promote the narrative of Christian right to do so. Good riddance to her.

Basically, anyone who panders to the muslim vote or in her case (muslim interests) in a way you don't like is an idiot despite the fact that some would argue its very natural for her to do so & it is also something that other groups do. What you argue as nasty identity politics I say is empathy for the everyday muslim & I think you used terms like backward muslim Pakistani masses when referring to her target audience. Their was an air of arrogance in your posts in this thread and that is the only reason why I posted a response.

Correction- I just read it - you said ignorant of politics out of cultural context so I take that one back.

I think Im just arguing for the sake of it. I don't like her attack on secularism so Ill shut my gob now- LOL!
