No, it's not. It's pretentious bullshit, which is what Paul Thomas Anderson is best at.

I didn't like them as in I couldn't wait for the movie to end. This applies to all 3 of them.

Boogie Nights I liked. But Magnolia-- what a piece of fucking garbage. This is what you get when you give a pretentious art-school hack a 37 million dollar budget, the star power of Tom Cruise, and millions of dollars in marketing, promotions, and award/critic whoring.

    fuck you

Fantastic Mr. Fox (you need to watch this film, simply brilliant from the art, to the story, dialog, soundtrack and voice acting)

There've been some really nice kid's movies recently like Up and Wall-E.

    True that.

So once again I'm left with the classic Irish man's dilemma, do I eat the potato or do I let it ferment so I can drink it later?

No, no, the soundtrack was mostly indie crap that made me want to blow my head up.

I watched The Lives of Others yesterday and it easily makes my top ten of the decade. Outstanding movie and deserves all the hype and accolades.

Training Day was good - if for Denzel's performance alone. The Departed was also a good one.

It depends on the version you get/download. Check your inbox.

Also a word of advice. Forget about IMDB rating. Just forget about it. I've been a movie maniac for most of my life and I can tell you IMDB is unreliable most of the time. Use RottenTomatoes instead. Not anybody can vote and they have a separate rating only by notable movie critics. Very accurate.
Also you should check the *Reception/Critical Reaction* section of the movie's Wikipedia page. Look for Roger Ebert's rating and check if the movie made it to the Top Ten lists.

Kinda a long list. I have too many favourites from this decade...  Roll Eyes

    District 9
    Crash
    Training Day
    Minority Report
    The Dark Knight
    Moon
    The Departed
    Bourne Trilogy
    Collateral
    Syriana
    An Inconvenient Truth
    Memento
    Hotel Rwanda
    Bowling for Columbine
    Shaun of the Dead!!!

And did anyone here see Equilibrium (starring Christian Bale)? Better than the Matrix imho, most underrated film of the decade!
