    probably what I meant was I'd get over the fact that I have been deprived of sex for all these years by finally getting married... in any case, I would have taken your advice if I were still a Deist, but being a practicing Muslim, that's impossible.

    Well not really "hanging", I meant talking to girls as in clubs (social family clubs not night clubs !!), private tutor classes, national & regional extra-curricular events, weddings, family gatherings, and the odd occasion when I accompanied my playa friend to his date (like Ray Liotta and Joe Pesci in Goodfellas).....
    I didn't start hanging out with girls, and going out to cafes and restaurants until the first year of uni when I was 18. And even then it was a group thing which helped take the pressure off. I didn't go out on a proper date until I was 20.

    What made you become deist and how long for, and what made you change your mind?  Did you ever tell anybody you left Islam when you were a deist?

    Really though, I've never been particularly lucky with women. Some people are lucky, and some aren't. There are plenty of ugly guys that end up with really nice women.

    Sure, I can get on with women fine, but for the most part, the ones I know are either going out with someone already, or not interested.

    And I've learned that it's just best not to get your hopes up. The girl I was talking about, I was quite sure she liked me, but she didn't. So, one is always best being indifferent. Otherwise, you set yourself up for a kick in the nuts.

    I was a late blossomer too, dont worry about it.  When it eventually happens, it will have been worth waiting for.  Trust me.  Only problem is that you will probably completely fall head over heels with whoever its with, and wont be able to see past their faults if they have any.
