The English National Football Team should not be taken seriously until they prove they deserve it.

Well done, Naerys - Algeria played with passion and fought for every ball and thoroughly deserved that point.  Afro

    England were absolutely dreadful.

lol Naerys, you seem a tad bit chuffed!

I'm not English and I'm disappointed. Do they even want to play?

lol! Hope you can understand why some people get fed up of supporting England!!

Shocker of a result with Germany though ... mysmilie_977  ... I hope that was an anomalous result!!

Algeria played quite well (congrats Naerys!), England again sucked donkey's ass, it's a shame that Slovenia hasn't raped bloody Yanks - during the first half it certainly looked like they are going to.

All things considered England's entry into the next round is far from certain.

Not only that, they should fork out the money the supporters paid to go to South Africa in the hope of seeing some football.  Utter crap, I nearly slept watching that game.

What games are worth watching today?
  • Re: The Official World Cup Thread

Ghana vs Australia would be interesting.

Particularly since both sides would want a win to get a strong say for the next round. If Ghana win, they are safe for the next round, if Australia win this will make things for all teams difficult as that would mean Germany, Serbia, Ghana, and Australia have both won a game and lost a game before their final group matches next week. grin12

Keep an eye for Netherlands vs Japan as well. I think the Dutch will win but only narrowly.

This dutch team seems so boring. Whatever happened to the free flowing joi de vivre of 2008?
After they scored the goal today they were completely content in keeping the ball and only attacking if Japan left holes at the back.

Very happy Australia scored... A lot of people here are pissed off about Kewell getting the red card for a "hand ball" when he was trying to use his chest and his hands were by his side. I thought that was a bit harsh...

If the referee gives a penalty for a handball that prevented a goal, he has to give a red card.
