Urm... is set another word for TV?

For the purposes of this conversation:
Digital terrestrial = DVB-T/2 (over the air transmission, with a traditional or high gain antenna). This means Freeview / Freeview HD.
Digital satellite = DVB-S/2 (using a dish). This will be Freesat in your case.
Digital cable = DVB-C/2 (cables running under the street). Virgin Media.
The above three types of broadcast systems require different tuners.
When I say old coax connections, I mean these sort:

Unthreaded, interference fit.
When I say F-type, I mean these:

Threaded.
What does cable STB do?
A cable Set Top Box (STB) would be provided by the cable provider (Virgin Media aka VM), much like a Sky box (satellite STB). The STB is basically a standalone tuner / decryption / decompression / video display device) which connects to the TV. In your case, your TV has both a satellite and digital terrestrial tuner built-in, negating the need for the STB. What you need to do is decide whether you want to use digital terrestrial ala Freeview (using an aerial - if you need to buy one then you need to read a little more) or satellite ala Freesat (you will probably have to get someone to install it, and of course get permission from your landlord).
God doesn't want you waste your life watching TV, which is why he's placing these obstacles in your path.
