  • CEMB Fitna Immigration
     OP - July 13, 2010, 01:26 PM

I have just watched "A response to Geert Wilders Fitna (from the Council of Ex-Muslims)" on Youtube. I found myself increasingly disturbed by the arrogance shown by the  CEMB members.  Maryam Namazie questioned ex-muslim men ( many of whom in their responses reminded me of arrogant Mullahs} and women about the film. There seemed to be an unquestioning belief that wanting to curtail immigration (especially muslim immigration) was 'right wing'. Well let me tell you now most Europeans are very worried about the huge number of uneducated, often illiterate tribal muslims coming into Europe and the problems they bring with them, and can do without being bracketed by people, many of whom are just experiencing freedom and democracy for the first time. One mullah, sorry, one CEMB man said that the 'agenda' of the CETB was to worry about the destructive influence of Islam in Islamic countries, not European ones. How very noble that is of him towards those countries which have given refuge to many of its members. One of the questions asked was  'Should the film be banned?'. I couldn’t believe my ears, as if we don't have enough calls for banning of free speech by Islamists  to be getting on with .  I couldn't help feeling that the sheer arrogant 'we are right and know everything and we are all left wingers' attitude is a throw back to Islamic certainty and indoctrination. 'You can take the person out of Islam but you can't always take Islam out of the person.' I have been a strong supporter of CEMB up until now, but I find myself wavering at the moment.

'You can take the person out of Islam but you can't always take Islam out of the person.'

I hate that saying - it reeks of bigotry.

Of course it's not possible for an ex-Muslim to be against Wilders' views or to express personal views you don't like - without Islam being the cause.  Roll Eyes

And those who express similar views about Wilders' film, but have never been Muslims  - no doubt Islam is responsible too?

Maryam Namazie asked the question "Should it be banned" - specifically to elicit the response that it should not be banned.

That point was reiterated several times across the 3 videos time and time again - that it should not be banned and none of the European Govts who apologised to Muslim countries should have apologised for the video as it was Wilders perfect right to exercise his free speech!

You cannot be in any doubt that all those in the video supported Wilders right to show the film - and supported free speech strongly - it even repeated the point yet again in the conclusion.

The irony is that you are the only one who seems troubled by free speech - when they express views you don't like Wink

Here's what I think of you and your post:  handjob

So because some ex-Muslims criticize the right-wing Muslim/immigrant-bashers like Geert Wilders that means they're crypto-Muslims or "cultural" Muslims. Yeah, that's the first time anyone's ever heard that bullshit argument here before.  Roll Eyes

And who was asking the question? Maryam Namazie who has been very consistent in her defense of free speech as she was later in the video. And what was the answer to the question? A definitive "NO". Obviously the question was asked because she knew or suspected his answer and wanted him to explain his and CEMB's position against banning the film. Are you fuckin brain-damaged or something? How the fuck did you manage to so completely miss the point of that Q&A-- which was to support free speech? Did you huff a lot of gasoline when you were a kid? Did you huff some before making that post?

    fuck you

If she knew the answer was going to be " Of course it should'nt be banned" , then what was the point in asking it? What worries me is that someone should even think of asking the question in the first place.

God, you're thick. She asked it because that's what some people are saying outside of CEMB, so she wanted to show the opinions of CEMB members on the issue which is AGAINST THE BAN. Instead of just having them read statements to the camera she obviously thought a Q&A format would work better-- this is a common technique, you shouldn't be having this much difficulty understanding it. Please try to avoid inhaling two cans of Scotchgard before coming onto the forum.

i watched fitna, i thought it was quite boring to be honest with you.
Infact i'd say half the youtube cideos out there could have done a better job of getting wilders pov across

What about the existence of highly opinionated people who are not only stupid...but who are seeing a psychologist and are heavily medicated and have a barbed wire tattoo on their arm?

I got one guy I loaned a rifle too but that's cause he's wicked laid back, smart, doesn't get into petty beefs and I know damn well the only things he's gonna be shooting with it are little paper targets.

Muc.. i am american.  I am the granddaughter of two immigrants, who left (grandad/hungary
(grandmother/austria) during a very tumultuous time.  They barely escaped with their lives, came
here with NOTHING, and because of my grandfather's life as a peasant, had VERY little education.
He didnt even speak engilsh.  But the HOPE that he held, in a chance for a new life, a chance
to work VERY hard to raise his family (he worked 16 hours a day in a cement mill) and have a
better future for us, is worth mentioning.

He wanted something better for his children!  I am soooo grateful for the risks and sacrrifices
he made in order that i could be here today.

And while i have mixed feelings about illegal immigrants in this country, I WILL NOT let you
bad mouth, insult, and try to demean my grandfather's dream!

My most PRIZED possession in the world is a tiny, roughly built table he made for my dad,
when my dad was 3 yr old, he started with a tree he cut down himself!

I welcome you here, but please leave your high-nosed ideals at the door.
