    Lol. I actually quoted your post by accident, but this thing is hilarious. He uses the abrogation of verses relating to alcohol to prove that sex with slaves is no longer allowed, when there was absolutely no abrogation for the verses relating to sex... and then he brings up international law banning slavery... well I guess international law abrogated the Quran.     As of recent, my parents have begun to notice that me and my sister are unhappy with Islam.

    I finally cracked after having to deal with their extreme religiosity, prejudice, and self-righteousness.

    All I did was ask: "How do you know you are right?"

    Two days ago, they literally held me hostage, and I had to put up with their circular reasoning until I asked "Isn't it time for Maghrib?".

    So I think I'm safe - for now.

    There's absolutely no point in arguing with close-minded religious parents. Coming out to them is just a matter of them accepting/tolerating who you are. You're not trying to convince them of your beliefs.

    The problem is, such parents DEMAND answers for such a shift in their children's religious beliefs and before any of the kids have the opportunity to have a reasonable discussion, the emotional blackmail and forced participation of religious dogma begins.

    I personally wouldn't get into such a discussion. Telling them you stopped believing is one thing, but explicitly pointing out all the faults you see in the Quran and the religion in general would just make it worse. It's a Pandora's box.
