     OP - August 17, 2010, 01:20 AM

Hi I am a 17 year old girl living in the UK, recently left Islam and am trying to survive Ramadan. I can't really get into the kitchen seeing as my mum is always in there now (Food on the table is very demanding at this time of the month Tongue). But yeah I am new to this forum so can anyone kinda give me a heads up.

     thnkyu

Welcome Sam.  You can always drink water from the bathroom tap if you're feeling thirsty and dehydrated.  Dunno how you can get around the food issue though apart from sneaking food into your bedroom.

Please tell us a bit more about how and why you left Islam...

Hey Shahid, thanks for the advice. I just remembered I am not muslim anymore! So I guess it's okay for me to drink from the toilet tap without the shaytan entering my mouth  Cheesy
    But aren't there health hazards?

But to answer your question I left because Islam made no sense. It's just an ideology that uses fear and a bunch of ignorant fools to keep it strong. Hopefully it'll die out and these people will see they are wronged.
I was born in Kuwait and came here when I was like two so I was kinda raised as a muslimah. My dad is nice but my mum is just an utter ignorant A hole. Sorry but it's how I feel :/
I began to doubt Islam and wanted to tell my dad about it (I swear he's the funniest greatest dad you could know) But when I told him the look on his face was horrific. He couldn't bare the words, he told to stop and threatened to kill me! I was shocked! My dad! He was like my best friend.
But now you can see how this religion drives even a loving man. I know he'll kill me because he's always forcing me to do stuff now. Like to go mosque, read quran, wear the hijab. We've been fighting a lot, he thinks I m loosing my faith. But he still thinks I am Muslim thankfully.

To be honest I can't understand organized religions that promote total submission, endless citations without even knowing the words, robotic prayers and outdated concepts. If you look at some people today they are blind followers! they know nothing about even their own religion and constantly argue and try to prove each other wrong. This quran are so outdated, Mohamed isn't exactly someone i look up to neither.

Let me ask you this, how do you want to be remembered in this life by your beloved? As someone who was always worried, afraid or lost. Or as someone who was happy and lived life to the fullest! I want to be happy. If their was a god he'd obviously want me to be happy wouldn't he? Islam dosen't make me happy, it scares the crap outa me. and the heaven don't even sound that nice lol.

I then looked at Buddhism, and although I didn't agree with some of the beliefs it taught me a lot about life and happiness. I really found many of the philosophies intriguing.

'All know the Way, but few actually walk it.'

Sorry it's long, I hope you don't mind.

And what about you, i'd like to know about you too Smiley

You want to know about me?  This thread is about you though!  grin12

I'll briefly say about myself... I'm 10 years older than you, British born of Pakistani descent, left Islam 6 years ago, discovered Islam was illogical and stupid for various reasons including the fact that it condemns unbelievers to hellfire, and the barbaric punishments it gives, and Muhammad being a bad man, and the unscientific aspects of the Quran, and the demanding aspects of the religions like praying 5 times a day...

    Back to you now... Smiley

Can't believe your dad threatened to kill you, but I know what you mean when you say that religion (especially Islam) can bring out the devil in even the nicest people.  I know a few of my family members, who are really really nice people otherwise, would absolutely freak out if I told them I don't believe in Islam.  Not sure they'd threaten to kill me though...

What is Mom doing in kitchen all the time? Eating??   tell her to go prayer room at least an hour a day after cooking everything. You will look after the food.,  Without leaving kitchen Allah will be upset and she will not get in to Jannah..

So once again I'm left with the classic Irish man's dilemma, do I eat the potato or do I let it ferment so I can drink it later?

This reaction of your father's clearly surprised you Sam08503. Such violent propensities among Muslims are centuries old, are not the result of recent "radicalization" by modern "Islamist" propagandists like Abu Hamza and are latent in a far wider segment of the general Muslim population than many here would care to acknowledge. Isn't that right Hasan?

Actually, it's the other way around in Islam. Heavens are at the feet of the mothers! Which I always found contradicting the hadeath about the majority of hell's residents being women!  idiot2

I think DH is getting mixed up with the "If I was to command a woman to bow to anyone, it would be to her husband" one.

The Prophet(Sallallahu alaiyhi wassallam) said, “If I were to order anyone to bow down to other than Allah, I would order the wife to do so for her husband. By the One who owns the soul of Muhammad,if a wife does not fulfill her obligations towards her husband, then she will not have fulfilled her obligations towards Allah.” [Ahmad]

No.,  that is NOT other way around., what  Sam08503  said is right.
    Quote
Mu'aawiyah Ibne Juhaymah radhiyallahu anhumaa relates: My father, Juhaymah radhiyallahu anhu, went to the Apostle of Allah sallallahu alayhi wasallam  and said, 'I intend to go on Jihaad and have come to seek your advice.' The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam  asked him, 'Is your mother alive?' 'Yes' he replied. 'Then stay with her and look after her needs. Your Heaven lies under her feet' said the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam .

that hadith is only for old women who has no husband to take care of and the son was drafted/wanted to go to war to help Muhammad(PBUH) wars for the sake of Allah and Muhammad's(PBUH)  Islam.

But in the case of  Sam08503., Her mother will be better of leaving her kitchen to  Sam after cooking that good food and spend time with her husband  in serving his needs. That is how woman will get in to jannah according Islamic theology and mullah yeezevee understanding.  So  Sam08503,  tell her to leave kitchen for prayer room  along with her husband. She will be more happy and you will be less hungry and also she will have less work as  you will take care of the kitchen work.

Do not let silence become your legacy.. Question everything
