    RichardDawkins.net (http://richarddawkins.net/)
    Atheist Media Blog (http://www.atheistmedia.com/)
    Common Sense Atheism (http://commonsenseatheism.com/)

Probably the best way to propagate your memes is via Twitter.  There are a number of channels that have followings in the thousands.  For example:
    http://www.twitter.com/AtheistMission (over 2000 followers)
    http://www.twitter.com/NewHumanist (over 5000 followers)
    http://www.twitter.com/Hemant Mehta (over 4000 followers)
    http://www.twitter.com/pzmyers (over 40,000 followers)
    http://www.twitter.com/AtheistQOTD (over 6000 followers)

If anybody is a member of any of these sites, then it would be great if you could do this site a favour & promote it there.

There is so much that this Council of ex-Muslims can offer in terms of ideas, media content and personalities.  I'm amazed at the quality of the videos I've seen produced by members on this site.  For example, the extraordinarily powerful poetry from Nessrinn is compelling.  After listening to some of the videos, I'm convinced that the medium of poetry can shape hearts and minds now, just as it always could in Arabic culture.  Beyond this emotive eloquence, I've also noticed rational discourse in the dissection of Islam coming out channels like that of ExMuslimUK.  I know that many other freethinking individuals and communities are hungry for these kinds of media.

Have you seen any of Hassans videos yet?  They are currently housed here

I just watched a bunch after following your link (thanks for that BTW).  This is excellent content presented in a respectful and concise manner.

    Correct.

Internet is fine - but RL action is the only way to become mainstream.

    This.

I suppose we need to gain enough momentum online before we can risk going public. Most ex-Muslims here are quite young, as is the movement itself. I have been somewhat frustrated about the situation ever since I turned apostate. What about a Youtube campaign? What we all wore a CEMB t-shirt in a video and did a little speech? Our faces could be blocked out if we wish. It's all about going viral nowadays, maybe with enough hits we can get coverage through media.

I think it's great we all make our own videos, CEMBadmins, Hassan's and IsLame's vids are the reason I am here in the first place. But what if we all collaborated on one gigantic video?

Hassan & I have tried various collaborative projects, but never got very far after the initial excitement died down.

Best we can realistically hope for is individuals making a difference in whatever way they see fit.  Its down to the new generation of CEMBers to do what they can, as it looks like the old workforce have expent most of their fuel or moved on, but at least got us this far.

Good luck to all the fresh new youngblood out there, onwards & upwards we march  Afro

I don't know about the history here but it sounds like you harbor some disappointment in light of noble efforts.  With all the sister movements going on right now, there are lots of opportunities to strengthen your own.  For instance, the New Atheists have managed to bring together a critical mass of followers, having the power to influence the world politically.  Just this week, the Humanist movement has embarked on the largest ever godless advertising campaign (http://www.considerhumanism.org/).  Don't think for a moment that an assertive and media-sayvy ex-Muslim presence will be unwelcome in the mix of such endeavors.

Thats not a bad idea - perhaps we should tag onto the more media-savvy & wealthy humanism.org or humanism.org.uk efforts and raise our profile & presence there.

I am sure they would be only too pleased to have a few ex-muslims representatives there too.

Why not share your ideas here while you've got the stage? Spotlight is on you.

Too fucking busy, and vice versa.

I was wholly turned off by the other websites/forums I had come across online (faithfreedom or something like that, jihadwatch) that I didn't continue searching.  I found this site when it was mentioned by an atheist youtuber. Perhaps asking some of the more prominent atheist youtubers to make a shout-out to the group?  I 'promote' this site as much as I can on other pages I visit.

    Hey guys,

Please do answer my survey which I posted under 'Ex-Muslims Blogs and Bios', if you haven't yet.. I know it's just a small step, but if I get enough responses my aim is to get the results published (hopefully) and then can also help raise awareness and make it go a bit more mainstream.. And make my dissertation better of course Wink Double gain Tongue Seriously though, I have started to care about this topic more and more as I've been doing research and I hope the research can contribute. But I need enough people to answer the survey, otherwise it's not gonna be worthy of publication.

Good suggestions, but try presenting them in a more constructive manner. You're acting like a jerk and you won't get any support for your ideas that way.

    fuck you
