    Following on from this thread http://www.councilofexmuslims.com/index.php?topic=12114.25, I thought it deserved its own spot here.

    For anybody who would like to get together with somebody who shares similar views to their own, and struggles to find such people in their current environment, particularly for those living in close-knit Muslims communities.

    I'll kick-start with my sister (who btw has given me her permission to put this here on her behalf)

    There should be a dating thread for each country. For example, dating thread (Canada) or UK dating thread.

    Good idea, particularly as their are many lurkers from other countries who might be tempted to join for this one facility (I know I would have done if I wasnt already a member)

    Oh and great idea Islame! I would have loved to come across something like this when I was a new single atheist Smiley Hated dating someone and trying to (politely) suss out how religious they were...

    bio-data(short):

    I'm somali, an agnostic atheist, I love videogames, movies, music and drugs(when I can). I don't mind going partying or just sitting down watching movie marathons.

    bio-data(long):

    I don't really like describing myself because of the risk of sounding narcissistic but here's the general gist of me:

    I love movies. I watch multiple movies every day and I'm very critical of them. My favourites include: A Clockwork Orange, Oldboy, Sympathy for Mr and Lady Vengeance, Pulp Fiction, Metropolis, The Third Man, Dog Day Afternoon, Chinatown, Taxi Driver, Once Upon a Time in America and the list goes on. It's a VERY long list.

    I'm also an audiophile. I listen to all sorts of music from underground hip-hop to post/math rock(such as 65daysofstatic, Giraffes? Giraffes! and so on). All of my music has to be 192kbps CBR quality or above else I cannot tolerate it(though I do have V2 VBR albums on my laptop). My music taste is diverse but some of my favourites include Army of the Pharoahs, Era, Enigma, E.S. Posthumus, Yuki Kajiura, 65daysofstatic, Maybeshewill, Tonedeff, OSI, Celldweller, Wu-Tang Clan and the Snowgoons. There's a lot more but I don't want to make really long lists.

    I'm also naturally a videogame addict. I grew up with classics such as the Legend of Zelda series, Final Fantasy, Vagrant Story, Crash team racing and other games. I am pretty much also obsessed with the pokemon games becuse they just are awesome. The only MMO I really play these days is Guild Wars, and I'm planning to play World of Warcraft when I can be bothered.

    My other passion is for mathematics. I find the logical nature of the subject, and the way that it interacts with every single thing we do in our reality absolutely fascinating. It helps me to formulate ideas clearly and concisely, and the principles behind it helped me escape religious dogma and think for myself.

    My data:

    My family is non-Muslim, so anyone who has aposticized will be welcomed in my household because my parents really don't care and that goes for any faith. I am a deist, 4'11, long brown hair, brown eyes and freckled. I love music, mainly grunge, heavy metal, classic rock, some country and classical. I also love to read and work in a library. I hope to be a librarian and famous author one day. I attend college as a history major with minors in philosophy and creative writing.

    Although only a very casual gamer myself, I'd rather play games with my partner than watch mind-numbing soaps or sit around reading crappy pop fiction. Each to their own.
