The person made would be genetically you with the same instructions for making cells etc, personality wise however if had diff experiences they would be mentally different.

    It isn't.

so then why is there no universe?

It was a play on words, "There is no spoon"

I'll try to take it more seriously from now on.

But would it be you? Would you remember you now and look back at your life as it is now as your past life?

haha, I see. My apologies for the misunderstanding.
Only take it as seriously as you want to, the rest of us don't know the answers either.  Smiley

it wouldnt be you in any of the conventional terms but genetically it would be identical to you ( this a clone of you Ident. Twin). Mentally within you (like You abood), i think you if you had stored that bit of your past you would think it the old you and have a new you thinking wise, however they think that most of what you are personality wise sets around 21 to 25 (as i remember), so the new you would be a layering and complexitating (my coined word) of the old one.

    OK, let's rephrase:

    Why do you think that?
  • Re: The whole universe is the size of a Sugar Cube!
     Reply #42 - September 13, 2010, 11:41 PM

Well I think about it like this, the world shows signs of its ancient geological history with extinct volcanoes etc, but that was the world then, the world now is as it is with all the weaknesses and strengths of rock history makes the world as it is now evolving new mountain chains and the like. So the world now is still the world, it just is on one section of its course through history.

    If you get my drift.

I wasnt talking about clones here, im talking about Abood the singular, not abood and his twin abid.

yes and there were some interesting ideas there, but it's just such a shame it was so mingled with the "new world order" and "illuminati" stuff

If you made a clone of you as a baby younger than you, they wouldnt remember your thoughts as they are not in your nervous system, there is no connection, they would build their own person through experiences which then by their genetic coding got memorised in the brain due to different genes being activated by an experience. They still would be identical to you genetically.
  • Re: The whole universe is the size of a Sugar Cube!
     Reply #57 - September 14, 2010, 12:01 AM

But you're assuming that being "identical to you" genetically makes that person you.

    BF:
    regarding the question
if as an adult, you cloned dna and made a new human from it, they would not share memories
however, if you cloned an exact replica of the human being (dnuno how) including the pathways etc, then the clone would know of them too

they would be seperate going forwards

    ME:

    however with gestation periods
    then it would separate

    yeah, but fundamentally
    from a purely chemical perspective

But you're assuming that being "identical to you" genetically makes that person you.

Im separating Genetic You and Mental + Aging You, the genetics affect the latter but the latter do not affect the former, they only change through mutation (cancers).
