"You have heard that it was said to those of old,‘You shall not commit adultery.’ 28 But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
What's wrong with this statement? It's perfectly true and well you know it. When a strapping young gallant spots a sweet young thing his thoughts race immediately to mounting her with the enthusiasm of a kid set loose in a candy store. JC knew whereof he spoke because he kept the company of harlots all day - and who knows perhaps all through the night - as becoming of any man, because he endured the promptings of the flesh. But what does an Egyptian little chit know about losing oneself in a woman's curves?
29 If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.
Nothing in this passage mandates that anyone lose their organs. It's left completely to the discretion of the individual. The difference is that Mo demands that other beardos cut off your limbs, but JC, ever the cool fella, leaves it to the individual conscience. If you don't like his counsel, don't follow it.
O I see its all allegorical , so whats the point of stating it this way again?
As noted elsewhere, JC was often mouthing what he was told by the two other rascals who form the trinity, the Father and the Holy Ghost. To them can be ascribed most of the balmy ideas which flowed from his lips, ideas which he was compelled to go along with by the democratic convention which governs all decision making in the heavens, so why drag him into this affair you godless rascal?
