    But I just watched Drive (2011)

    Fantastic, I was skeptical at first because it was number 1 on many top 10 of 2011 lists (usually not a good sign) and because the trailer makes it look like a fast and furious style action film, but actually it's more like a crime drama and 80s style film noir, beautiful shots, great synth soundtrack and the performances are amazing, especially Ryan Gosling.

    9/10, recommended!

    Yeah, it's worth a gander. I hadn't heard what it was about before I saw it so it was a pleasant surprise. The characters are not annoying like they are in most teen supernatural drama. Great young cast.

    Cool, thanks for the recommendation, saw the trailer in the cinema when I was watching that awful film MI4 and thought it was worth a look-in.

    I see some good movie suggestions here Smiley, I will have to watch Drive, seems to be a good one Smiley

    I wanna list the last 3 movies I watched.

    1. The Big Lebowski, great movie, my type of thing and it appeals to me because I got a bunch of friends with that type of character and personality lol.

    2. The Mechanic, wasn't that bad.

    3. Clash of the Titans, a decent movie, maybe u will find it boring but it is appealing to me because I like Ancient Balkan History.

    I watched Chronicle, very enjoyable. I liked the concept, I liked the story, I liked the funny bits, I would have enjoyed it a bit more if it were more drawn out and longer, but it fit the purpose, great film. Thanks for the recommendation Ishina.

    I just found out the guy who directed Bronson also directed this.

    I don't know why The Times describes Drive as a "Blood pumping thrill ride of a movie" though. It's rather unhurried and contemplative. The pauses before Gosling speaks are so lingering and mesmerising that they can take your breath away with anticipation.

    New film to review: The Conspirator (2010)

    Without giving too much away, the film tells the true story of the trials of the alleged conspirators involved in the assassination of Abraham Lincoln and focuses on the trial of Mary Surratt, the mother of one of the conspirators who found herself on trial when her son went into hiding. Representing Surratt is a young, up-and-coming attorney who, after returning a Civil War hero finds himself tasked with one of the most difficult defence cases possible despite his personal convictions and allegiances.

    The film draws strong parallels between the hysteric tones present after the tragedies of the Lincoln assassination and the 9/11 attacks, as well as the legal and constitutional violations in the trials/imprisonment of alleged perpetrators/terrorists and abettors in both cases.

    I loved the film (and not everyone will), I found it excellent, but then I generally love films which focus on high profile trials (the last one I enjoyed was Neuremberg (2000) with Alec Baldwin). The film does take patience, as it can be slow in places, but generally it's a worthwhile watch. James McAvoy (last king of Scotland, Wanted, X-Men first class) delivers a solid performance as do the rest of the cast.
