     OP - March 08, 2011, 10:08 PM

    Hello,

At the third or fourth prodding, I've taken the plunge and actually joined the forums.

What's there to know about me? Well, let's see: the roots of my unbelief began when I was 14, when I reasoned that an all-powerful god that apparently required our obedience and was prepared to reward or punish us accordingly required no faith. Twenty years later, I've moved on from questioning to dismissing the question of divine existence as irrelevant (immanence be damned) to deciding that gods don't exist. An especially reluctant application of Ockham's razor, if you will..

I'm skipping a lot of detail here, I know, but I'm sure what else needs to come out will do so in chat  Wink

    Um... double that figure.

As to the burden of proof, that burden lies with anyone making a claim of divine existence. Naturalistic 'explanations' haven't been useful for oh, a couple of centuries now..

I was undecided, and to some extent keeping my options open.

As a term usually associated with belief in divine transcendence, yes. I'd suggest that its existence - beyond the form of a happy mental image - remains unproven.
