ramadan ta3ees  Over react everone will be a  sheikh

LOL ta3ees... its so true, everyone I know hates the fast and having to work full day so much.. at least peeps in the middle east are so lucky as they get to work half days, and everyone around them is fasting, so no one bringing cofee and smelly food eating them in front of them.

    Ta3ees is the right word..

Are you doing that out of Empathy? Or is it for charity?

I apparently agreed to keep all the fasts this year, according to my wife. Can't believe I did that?! I'm gonna die :(

For the East Africa Crisis Appeal (donate here: http://www.dec.org.uk/). Proximity to Ramadan was pure coincidence.

The Month of Hypocrisy is around the corner. Time to follow the footsteps of pre-Islamic pagans. Good Ol Iblis is doing time and the Ramadan-Muslims (and Muslimahs) are acting all pious.

    Ramadan Mubarak!  Cheesy

    +1 Cheesy

good luck to those who have to thirst and starve to keep peace. it sure is tough. much tougher for the pretenders who know there are no virgins awaiting their arrivals. so rivers of milk and honey or palaces adorned with precious stones.

i did my share of deceit when i was younger but i was sneaking food and water all along.

i can handle those who fast because they believe it's an order from god. they're deluded, but whatever. but those lying bastards who claim fasting is good for health, really piss me off. how's dehydrating in 40 degree temps good for you? how?

it's religion as usual making normal the absurd and down right ludicrous by giving it infallible backing

If you go hours without deliberately eating you're diagnosed with the mental illness of anorexia, you're a 'self-harmer' and you are warned about the harmful effects to your physical and mental health of such actions

however if you say you're doing it becos you think it's an instruction that a inconspicuous, indiscernible deity has passed down thru an an ancient archaic mythological scripture then its 'fasting' and the benefits and virtues are lauded for the very same action.  Huh?

(continued after a longgg pause lol)

Humans seem to love rituals....and doing things habitually, i was thinking a little ago that that's why my mum will find it harder to give up Ramdhan (and islam in general) to see the flaws. The longer you stick to something the harder it is to get out of it, with age you become more aware of your mortality and to deviate from the world view that you have built would mean bringing into question your foundations.

Your whole life you build up your view of the world, you stumble, you feel low, you doubt (do various degrees) and you then become more fixated on the platform you built beneath you, it has become your foundation, your history. It's easier to destroy, rebuild and amend this when you are younger, when you feel like death is infinitely far away.

most generally people don't like changes....especially in something so core to them. i see how 'happy' mum seems more cheerful that ramdhan has arrived, it's seems like mum feels comforted by it.
