BBC is reporting that 10 Downing Street has issued government advice on how to stay safe in a riot situation, including for your safety a website to track how far the riots are from you:

Yeh, things are relatively calm in London now. I'm more disappointed in the senior members of the police force and politicians lack of urgency in pre-emptively dealing with this issue. It was obvious as soon as the mayhem hit Brixton, things were going to begin kicking off in Croydon too.
I was expecting police to at least block off all main roads to the town centre but that only happened after hundreds looted and ransacked the area (apparently £70,000 worth of gold was stolen from a jewellers). Insurance companies are sure going to be making massive payouts.

Hopefully, Cheetah. I fear though that if it is connected with the rioting and looting, it will make things worse. I really do.

This is what happens when riots and mob violence takes place. It always results in things getting out of control, and innocent people injured or killed.

Listening to LBC and some callers are saying it's the "Blacks and this proves Multiculturalism has failed - and the pc media won't admit it." I love the way everyone is jumping on this to say "You see! I was right!"

    I don't understand two things:

What do they really mean by multiculturalism?

And in what way has it failed?

I suspect many of them really mean: "Kick anyone with dark skin out and ban anyone from choosing a lifestyle they don't approve of"

He is I'm afraid. And it's 3 lads not just one:

UK riots: Birmingham murder inquiry after car kills three British Asian men
Tensions raised over deaths of men, struck while leaving mosque as crowds tried to protect neighbourhoods from looters

Yeah IA, the details are horrific. The father of one of the men ran out to help the wounded and wasn't aware that his son was amongst the dying. He tried to resucitate him but he died.

This is now very frightening to anyone who knows Birmingham. This could take on a racial element, like it did in Lozells in 2005. West Midlands Police and everyone needs to work hard to keep a lid on it.

Interview with the father on one of them - he is being incredibly dignified.

I just got this text from a Muslimah, and man has she pissed me off or what?! furious When will these muslims learn that the fucking world does not revolve around them?! FFS.

    Quote
Using the riots as a cover, the cowardly racist thugs at the EDL are planning on fire-bombing mosques around the UK. This is news directly off their private forums from trusted contacts. Please ask all to be vigilant & ensure that others know of this threat, please forward this text on to all your family + friends. Jazakhallah Khair.

I wouldn't put it past some 'crazies' to use the riots for their own ends.

But it's so typical of muslims to divert all attention on to them. FFS it's not like all the muslims are out on the streets cleaning up the mess of the rioters now are they? (Or maybe they are, but not in large numbers.) furious
