Eat meat now and again out of necessity not out of unable to kick the habit. Dont enjoy meat that much!
What do you mean by necessity?
There are plenty of non meat alternatives if you're not a vegan, sometimes cheaper too.
Milk, nuts, chick peas, beans, whey protein isolate, (possibly fish depending on your definition of vegetarian), soy, TVP, wheat gluten, mushroom (portobello) , tofu, eggs etc etc.
Plenty of things and mixes to generate the adequate levels of fats, iron, vitamins, proteins and carbs.
