Whatever you do, avoid the Miami spin-off like the plague. That is by far the most tragic of the three.

    Image does not display. Tongue

However, I did manage to grab the url and yep, he is defo one of the main reasons why the Miami spin-off sux festering donkey ballz. His acting is shit, and he's not just abysmal in the show, he's abysmal irl. Seriously, read up on the dude.

Plus the scripts in the Miami version are often over the top stupid, and the filming uses bizarre colour filters a lot of the time.

Cheesy This thread has some awesome summaries in it: CSI: Miami - is this show a joke?

    Quote
I have long maintained that CSI: Miami is a comedy and everyone involved with the show knows except David Carouso. And everyone is forbidden to tell him.

    Quote
Thankfully, CSI Miami was canceled last year.

From what I have read, David Caruso is not only a jerk in real-life, but also an idiot who could never remember his lines and they had to be written onto large poster boards off-camera, so he could remember what to say.

    This is true too:

    Quote
The original "CSI" was no less dumb but it just didn't seem that way because William Peterson is a good actor who appears to be really smart, and Marg Helgenberger is a good actor who appears to be really smart, while David Caruso and Emily Procter are dreadful.

Other than that, however, they're basically the same. CSI had plenty of ridiculously stupid stories. People watch police procedurals for the procedural, not the police.

None of the CSI franchise are in the same league as shows like Waking the Dead.

I never liked any of those CSI shows, or the lawyer based shows. I avoid most TV these days due to all the law, police, doctor, ER, etc shows on the networks I have.

Lately I've been watching The Good Wife. I don't think I've ever been more addicted to a TV show. I've already burned through season 1.

I love smart, classy, sexy, brilliantly written legal drama like this. I don't understand even half of the jargon and shoptalk, but I understand the moves being played and I'm absolutely hooked on the plotting and political intrigue.

I especially love Kalinda, the in-house investigator. One of the best femme fatale characters I've ever had the pleasure of watching work.

Yo Ish! Are you up to date with this show? I've been watching it since season two aired and last night's episode was... wow  Shocked

Re CSI Miami, is it just me or is that show really bright? I never used to watch it but all I remember about it was that everything was always too bright and sunny. As opposed to, say, any of the Law & Orders where everything is dark and grimy.

The final action scene of episode 4 of True Detective was fucking spectacular. A continuous (or seamlessly transitioned) 6 minute shot that would make Alfonso Cuaron proud. It's almost unfair to say it's movie quality direction by Cary Fukunaga. I'd rather say movie directors should take note.

OMG, this!  I had to watch it all over again.

Yeah but he is rather morbid and depressing. Hardly a good ambassador for Atheism.

I don't see him as an ambassador for anything. Just an interesting and complex individual that I often find speaks for me.

And he is not a moral hypocrite like Rust which is one of the things I dig about him. I was never a fan of Matthew McCounaghey but I like his character on this show.

I've always liked him, but that might be because he's a gorgeous bastard. He's a bit of a late bloomer when it comes to acting. But damn, he has certainly bloomed.

what the fuck  !  they gave the show a happy ending and then made everything go to shit in the last half of the finale.
