A Cambridge tradition is the University Boat Race. A lesser-known one is the University Cardboard Boat Race, where one does a lap on a stretch of the Cam in a boat constructed of nothing more than cardboard and tape. Lots and lots of tape. A surprisingly large number of vessels survive.

I was watching it this afternoon.

    Fellow audience members:

    The race proper:

    These girls won.

Awesome shots, toor. Did you take the shots in B/W or is it post?

Thanks! Post - adjusted in Lightroom. The camera has art modes, but I haven't messed around with them.

You can do it in LR. You don't really need PS for it.

Some stuff I took with me trusty auto settings. Cheesy

Heard a noise outside this afternoon, and the echidna was back. Little bugger was trying to get down the stairs at the end of the verandah, which is a bit hard when you have legs as short as an echidna's.

Got his nose stuck in a potted orchid with his arse in the air, then the pot fell over. Echidna is fine. Orchid will survive. parrot

Beautiful little bugger! Small thing too.  dance Is this his second visit, or is he a serial visitor with multiple verandah tracking points?

Peru, it's not a hedgehog. It's an echidna. They're not the same. Echidnas are monotremes. Smiley

This one is a serial visitor, but I haven't seen him for quite a while. Was wondering where he was a while back. Off in the bush I presume.

Probably socializing with his echidna friends. Maybe doing bingo at the local CEA (country echidna's association) or whatever their equivalent is to the RSL, or Lions or whatever.  Tongue

    Methinks he likes your verandah.

He has trouble getting across the lawn if I don't mow it for a week in summer. Beats me how they get around the bush with those short legs.

They can be fast when they want to. Remember catching one once, took forever to grab it as it was off like a shot.

Yeah they're cool, but I wouldn't want to have to rely on one every day. I'd rather have my old Rodeo, thanks. It's better for getting me to places like this:

Yeah the view is great. That's taken from The Pinnacle, on the western rim of the caldera. Looking straight down off the lookout is enouigh to give you vertigo. Cheesy
