Robert Spencer: Fearmongering/hatemongering scumbag, allies himself with the very worst right-wing elements (like the EDL), his organization SIOA has been labeled a hate-group by the ADL (and the ADL itself is very heavily critical of Islam and Muslims and is hawkishly pro-Israel), he seems to back up his SIOA buddy Pam Geller in her denial of the Srbrenica massacre, has accused the founder of CEMB (Maryam Namazie) and one of this forum's founders (Hassan Radwan) basically of being stealth-jihadists/jihadist apologists for condemning his hatemongering. I'm not sure if he's a Christian fundamentalist himself, but some of his closest allies are.
ETA: If Spencer said the shit he does about Muslims, except about Jews is there any doubt he'd be considered a dangerous, fanatical right-wing hatemonger? Shit just backing up or being closely associated with a Holocaust denier alone (like Geller denies Srbrenica) would be enough to condemn him. Interesting article on this very topic--
http://www.loonwatch.com/2011/11/robert-spencer-and-julius-streicher-islamophobia-and-anti-semitism-same-message-different-minority/Geert Wilders:Fearmongering populist demagogue pandering to xenophobic and anti-immigrant sentiment amongst his electoral base. Like most politicians (regardless of ideological stripe), his main principle is power and fame. Unprincipled hypocrite-- holds himself up as a martyr for free speech while calling for the Quran to be banned. Has cozied up to the same dangerous American right-wing reactionaries Spencer has.
Both shitbags and a good example that "blowback" works both ways when it comes to Islamism (Western foreign policy during and since the Cold War has helped encourage the development of reactionary Islamism, which in turn has helped encourage the development of reactionary movements in the West).
ETA: Just some additional clarification Tonyt...
his film, Fitna was banned in some country and he was banned from entering the UK because of it. I watched his Fitna video on youtube and I can honestly say that I could not find anything innacurate or untrue about it and therefore cannot see why it should be banned whatever his other beliefs are.
1. The British travel ban was lifted.
2. I'm pretty sure no one from CEMB supported that travel ban, and I'm absolutely sure many opposed it on free speech grounds. Same goes for banning his film. Unlike Wilders himself, CEMB has been pretty consistent in upholding the right of free speech, even for those with whom they disagree.
Who else is on it?
Worried you might be?
