I watched, sometimes begrudgingly, the third installment of the adventures of Richard.B.Riddick, eponymously entitled Riddick. If you are familiar with our anti-hero, then this movie was a virtual remake of Pitch Black, with none of the depth and originality. I would rather it went the way of than Chronicles, but I don't think they had the money.
Made on a shoestring affected the CGI, making it look ten years out of date. The budget though cannot be used as a reason to excuse the poor dialogue, cardboard cut-out acting and the too neat ending.
I suspect it was a 15, because some of the gore is visceral and you do get a bit of tit n stuff. There is a friendship with a puppy turned dog, makes Riddick almost human. A few chuckles and two interesting mercs including Katie Sackoff, who is easy on the eye and hard as nails.
The movie is set on a planet that he needs to escape from as it is chocful of predators, who look like, a pair of jaws on two legs. Other movies also feature landscapes with fire-breathing or flying or huge creatures as predators. You never see the herbivores?
I am my own worst enemy and best friend, itsa bit of a squeeze in a three-quarter bed, tho. Unhinged!? If I was a dog I would be having kittens, that is unhinged. Footloose n fancy free, forced to fit, fated to fly. One or 2 words, 3 and 3/thirds, looking comely but lonely, till I made them homely.D
