    anyone going?  Can we get some hadiths and quran verses and debunking Islamic science pdfs for Professor Krauss so he can wipe this dude off the map?  Can we get the rationalizer on this?   Damn I wished I lived there, I would be ready with my ipad

    This will not go well for Krauss, or his case for atheism. Krauss has no understanding of (or appreciation for) philosophy, not a particularly good speaker, and I doubt he knows much about Islam. The only advantage he has over Hamza is his knowledge of physics, but I doubt it will be enough.

    Saif Rehman's book Allah Delusion has good collection of hadiths and quranic verses with ridiculous claims etc.

    What I can't understand is why are they debating? worldview ? Krauss is an excellent physicist and you don't need a PhD to know that Quran tells jack about what we know today of our world. Current understanding of physical world has been achieved in last 150 years. I doubt Hamza will try to tell that Quran predicts the mass of higgs boson as all scientific claims originating from Quran  have been retrospective i.e. you discover it then we'll relate it to some vague verse. On the other hand I think Hamza will present Islam being guide for morality etc and am not sure Krauss is the perfect opponent to rebut such a debate.

    i personally would like to see it, but at the same time, Tzortzis has done nothing to deserve it. He has absolutely nothing to lose, and has therefore already won.

    no matter what the topic of any debate or conversation, all he is going to talk about is the linguistic miracle of the quran, and possibly embryology. Either way, he wont make a single point that isnt already on his stupid website. These things are rarely actual interactive debates. They are just a series of rehearsed speeches. It is simply a way of gaining a bit of credibility.

    First and foremost, Hammy will humbly suggest that islam is better than atheism because atheism is an outdated cliche, and maybe a straw man. Then he will enlighten us with the fact that certain people have expressed positive opinions of the quran. A rational person, he will insist, would therefore be forced to conclude that the evidence clearly sides with Islam rather than atheism.

    Krauss should get into islam more organically. I'd like to see him make an effort antiquating himself with the material before doing any of this. Maybe he should go the jinn and tonic show. Anything without jumping in head first into hammy's little trap.

    This is a big boost for hamza, one he doesn't deserve. I wish these big name atheist debaters would be smarter with shit like this. Just because you know about Christianity doesn't mean jack

    Well maybe you guys are jumping the gun, what if Krauss did prepare?  

    On morals Sam Harris would be better but even if you guys don't think he deserves it when was the last time you saw a debate against Islam? 

    We need more of this period.    I have family who have not even wanted to research the other side, perhaps high profile debates will make them want to take notice.  You gotta start somewhere.

    But again thinking Islam has any moral ground is bunk all they do is say well the Christians did it too...as if that makes it ok.

    A world renowned scientist with multiple phds who has authored many critically acclaimed books shouldn't be sharing a public platform with someone who only has a BA in Pyschology and has written no books or provided no original intellectual thought. This gives an intellectual layman and a glorified pulpit molvi like Hamza(who doesn't even have a wikipedia page) alot of credence.     we still don't know if he even has this degree. studying psychology at university is different from being a psychology graduate.
    I have a suspicion that he found Islam half way through and then dropped out.

    I really find these debates pointless, they can never go in to the nitty gritty details and often end up running out of time when things start to get interesting. I admire Dr Krauss for going ahead with this debate but I do hope he reads up on islamic apologetics. Hamza will less likely than christians to use reality claims. His main argument is the argument from ignorance and I think Dr Krauss is just the type of personality to call out on hamzas fallacious reasoning.

    This is what Tzortzis will say:

    1. First and foremost, Islam is better than atheism because we can infer from rational deduction (or by plagiarising from William Lane Craig), that the universe had a cause which has the same attributes that Islam ascribes to Allah (outside of time and space, uncaused, intelligent etc). (standard kalam krap)

    Some may say that quantum mechanics explains how the universe can come from nothing, but this is an outdated atheist cliche because the quantum vacuum is not 'nothing'.

    2. Secondly, Islam is better than atheism because Islam, and not atheism, can explain why the quran is miraculous.
    The quran is miraculous because A) it does not contain the mythological and erroneous beliefs of the 7th century. How did Muhammed know loads about embryology/geology/whatever? Was he a greater scientist than Aristotle and Galen?

    All of this will be interspaced with massive amounts of name dropping and quotations, incoherent rambling nonsense, and general Tzortzisery.

    I found out that my Muslim friend who I've been giving headaches by showing her certain hadiths doesn't believe we evolved from apes.

    I told her that once she started getting into the realm of science she was in my turf, and that science would gladly shit all over her beliefs if they conflict Tongue

    It's funny how people still try to deny things like evolution. Neil DeGrasse Tyson put it well when he said “the good thing about science is that it's true whether or not you believe in it.”

    Krauss will fail miserably just like he did against Craig.

    Hamza will own his ass, Krauss can't address the Kalam Argument and will keep talking something about physics, if u r not able to address the 2 first premises of the Kalam with a debater that u know for sure is gonna use the Kalam argument to make up his case then don't even bother.
