That would be difficult. Dad has been dead for years, and he was cremated. I'd stick my willy in the urn though, if necessary. Afro

Would you fuck your dad to save your mum's life? And just to note, mum wouldn't be confined to a bed or in pain, you fuck your dad, your mum lives a life of good health. You don't fuck your dad, she dies. The choice is yours.

That is just fucking disgusting. If my mother was still alive, I could save her without doing that deed suggested.

Yeah but the hypothetical is that you couldn't. Perhaps your mum is being held hostage by a sicko who wants to watch you do depraved things, or something. TBH, I think that in that situation it'd be a case of just do it.

    No, you couldn't. It's an either/or situation.

So, let us say that studies on done on the viewing of 12-16 year old girls in cartoon form being subjected to humiliation/degradation/punishment/rape/force/multiple penetration/etc/you get the picture - this is allowed so that men and some women do not carry out these vile acts to real people in real life?

Now you don't get to see this kind of stuff, I mean, distilled/purified in this form, not in my, I must say limited, knowledge of things blue, there might be, remember cartoon form - no real people are harmed, nor animals, hey Oz, watch it to your heart's content.

What if it was babies, a six month old, a two year old, a five year old, all animated to look appealing/tempting/etc. Now imagine there was genre of such infant porn, along with your usual, (I wont mention any examples because 3 might be listening)

Do you think those that indulge in these sickening acts will stop committing the sickening acts?
Or do you think, the exposure to such cartoon infant porn will suck perverts and priests into committing these acts for real?

    Which scenario is more realistic?

I am my own worst enemy and best friend, itsa bit of a squeeze in a three-quarter bed, tho. Unhinged!? If I was a dog I would be having kittens, that is unhinged. Footloose n fancy free, forced to fit, fated to fly. One or 2 words, 3 and 3/thirds, looking comely but lonely, till I made them homely.D

How would you know which scenario is more realistic if you don't have any hard data on it?

One's preconceived notions and aversions aren't a reliable indicator to direct public policy. Well, at least if public welfare is the key concern.

Actually, we do have hard data on things like rape statistics. And we know at least one particular country (Japan) which is very permissive in "artistic depictions" of such heinous acts but ends up with lower reported incidents of rape than virtually the entire western world. On the other hand, one of the most "strict" Western countries in the US, ends up with one of the highest in the West.

Of  course there are various rationalizations as to why this is the case, some more valid than other. But at the end of the day the more convincing explanations end up addressing real data and why there could be discrepancies, as opposed to pulling various kinds of touchy feely "arguments" from one's ass.

Firstly let me say that I admire your spunk, punk. Excuse the Americanism. It is also honourable that you have to defend the honour of cato, sticking up for friends is a noble virtue, so is telling your friends when they are in the wrong. First him....then ...now you lol

So let me get this straight, you wont attempt to answer the question at hand but bring in a strawman, well I will set fire to the strawman. Rape statistics have nothing to do with my questions, true that sex with under 16 is usually rape and deffo when we go even younger but what I am talking ab0out is 'perversions' there is a difference and if you are too thick to see it, then that is not my problem.

I'd like to go one on one with you asbie, Japan v USA and I will tell you now that that was the first topic that made feel good being online. So let's have you.

Of course you cant give a reasoned reply to the question, you don't know how to.

As for 'touch feely' are you a humanist? is it wrong to have empathy/sympathy. Was it not you who said I was the rape-apologist? Humanist pah hypocrite more like.

As for my 'ass' firstly it is 'arse' in a language when your country was all totems and teepees and secondly my arse at 5 had better arguments than you and your next ten generations could muster. Comprende?

I do not think such outlets will cure them of these "desires". Outlets like this are merely coping mechanisms. Also these outlets could indeed reinforce the desire to commit these acts. I do think there is a valid reason for ignoring data to influence such scenarios if put into practice as Asbie point and myself pointed out in with Japan. However I have to say if I omit all data influences I do not think such outlets would help at all. It would yield negative results in my opinion

I do not think you are looking for a rational answer. You are looking for a gut reaction answer void of influences on the topic and on the one that responds. You want a blank state response. I hope you can see that that I hold different views once is information added to the scenario.

Q4. Were the 11/9 hijackers brave or cowardly (dastardly and deadly is the constant)?

Why can they not be both? They faced certain death bravely but the act itself was cowardly

I am always associated with Humphrey but this was never my intention. I do not mind as I am use to it by now.

I revised my response once my training kicked in. I failed to put myself in a situation to counter preconceived ideas about the question. I had to data dump as judging from your previous comments you are looking for answer from just such a position. Correct me if I read you wrong.

I am 30, male, lived in Canada all my life. My grandparents from one side were immigrants from Germany. On the other side my great-grandparents, both sets, were Ukrainian, English, Russian and Polish. However I do not identify with any of these cultures. I guess you could say I am cultural lost in this respect. I identify more with decade based cultural groupings so the 90s to early 2k

    So why bogart? Bogart.

Sometimes I think if you take away all 'media' blue or any other hue of the rainbow, nothing much would change. rape/incest/bestiality/etc would carry on just as much as before. Obviously with 'media' you can get away/hide many ills and 'sins'.

saying that my gut feeling is that cartoon depictions of babies being raped would increase the problem not reduce it but looking at it rationally it is the opposite of my paragraph above.

if Japanese culture is built to take peado/hebephilia/incest in its stride by sleeping with their children, buying used knickers of schoolgirls and wanking of to schoolgirls being raped/fucked by aliens and groping schoolgirls on trains/buses, then fine, it is a robust approach.

We have to look at the Japanese woman v the American women. Even though Japan has no monotheistic religion and even Shinto iirc is not concerned with what they do/did in bed, it's women by and large adopt a more eastern style than western style. Divorce was less commonplace, women get married/have kids, they are more family orientated, shame/honour equation exists, this is why rape is reported less. if japan had Swedens law's it would be a different kettle of fish.

    Cheers

    With you almost never.

Suffice it to say that I tend to follow a sort of consequentialist set of ethics. This is why I'm more interested in public impact stats when compared to "perversions", whatever that refers to.

As for any sort of challenge, I'll pass. I know that there are benefits and drawbcks to both American and Japanese society and I really have no wish to get into an online pissing contest with you about them. I was simply mentioning one aspect in which a greater level of freedom has a seemingly positive practical impact on society. I didn't know I had to defend the sum total of a culture to do that.

    So why bogart? Bogart.

The name goes back to my days as a youth when I partied heavily. I was the one that tended to bogart the joints. So I just stuck with that name as it seemed to apply to other aspects of my personality and life even now. I tend to "bogart" presentations in classes, take up a lot of time with dialogue between myself and my professor, etc.

Agreed. It has never been about "media" or any other non-medical factor solving these issues. Call it religion, law, knowledge, society, culture or whatever you want. None of these have solved the cause of these issues. Many factors have helped promote the idea that these issues are not issues at all. Humanity is also good at just ignoring things that make us uncomfortable.

saying that my gut feeling is that cartoon depictions of babies being raped would increase the problem not reduce it but looking at it rationally it is the opposite of my paragraph above.

Looking back I did make some errors in communication my thoughts. From reading your comments to Asbie I concluded that you didnt want an answer that included information that showed outlets had an impact on such scenarios. I thought Asbie present an answer with the Japan example. Such art could have a positive impact in the form of visual outlet. So I took your two scenarios as presented, two positions with limited information and data dumped myself. My initial answer was I thought such "art" would facilitate fantasies to become realities.

If you want me to look at the scenarios rationally you must allow me to include whatever data I possess or wish to research. If you want data dump and pick one you will have a gut reaction, or jumping to a conclusion, type of answer. I provided answers for both positions.

Often unorthodox solutions work best if other solutions fail as resolving issues. We have seen solutions such as law from draconian to complete acceptance fail repeatedly. Also you have to consider the fact that these issues are not always seen as issues in every society or were issues that the entire population were effected by. These solution may not be the best answers but could be more satisfactory than other solutions.

We are talking about art as the primary factor not actually acts. Please do not equate the two in the middle of the discussion.

Of course these different influences will have an impact on the "people" in any example. However that does not mean we should not consider Japan's "solution" in our own societies. We no longer live in a state of isolation be it cultural, regional or population based. Be it Japanese and Swedish culture neither is static. Each is reinventing and adapting it's culture with each new generation.

You mean like usually a decision can be both brave or foolhardy/stupid, you don't know which until the outcome is decided or if the outcome is to your liking or not?

I think they were brave. What makes the act itself cowardly? I have many blind spots from many years of seeing death and destruction in lands of my parents etc.

culture/smulture, it is all biology, culture just changes the manifestations. I don't know the words/terms, sometimes I find that there is a word that describes a 'theory', I say good, cos I am on the sirat-e-mustaqeem and doing your own thinking/without books is scary but worth it.
