Damn you hosers talking aboot Canada like that.

Your last article about college was interesting. Most of the social interactions you experienced in college I experienced in Jr and Sr high-school. It just seems so odd to me seeing people in collage acting the way you describe.

Ah makes more sense. I thought these experiences were in college so I applied the standard age grouping of 18+ which is more common here.

It was in college. My school just enrolled us all in a program here that lets us go to college two years early.  So we were high school students and college students at the same time. Tongue

Lucky you. I never got the chance to enroll in in both secondary and post-secondary courses. I had to pass whole grades as there was no programs like yours. I could enroll in secondary courses ahead of my own grade, math 12 while in grade 9 for example, but only if I created an issue out of it. Being locked into an age based education scaling system created a lot of issues for me in public schools. Usually this issues were in the form of being a distraction in class. By grade 10 I removed myself from public schools to enroll in the distant education programs. I could accomplish more on my own in a few weeks which took months in the standard public education format.

But now, I wonder, why do we silence ourselves? Why do we do that? Why do we hold on to our pain, cover up our scars, just to protect those who gave them to us? I don’t know. Had it not been for the fact that I worried for my younger siblings’ mental health and wellbeing, I probably never would have talked to my parents about this.

I am so sorry. I want to say right now, for everyone to see, that a butter knife in a door jamb will work better than any lock. Just close the door, and slide the knife into the wood molding in the door frame so that the knife protrudes over the door, which, if it opens inward, now cannot be opened without either snapping the solid metal knife, or taking the door off of it's hinges.
This buys you a lot of time. If you are afraid your knife will snap, just use multiple knives spread out vertically along the door, to share the weight.

Similarly. If you've been locked in, you can also use a butter knife to unlock it using the same technique, but instead of jamming, you push toward the lock in the door.

Yeah, I don't hold it against them though. They tried a lot of different things (including having god knows how many sheikhs come over and read Quran over him. Like that does anything.  Roll Eyes) But I was annoyed that they seemed to care more about trying to stop me from resenting him rather than finding a solution. I'm happy he's finally out of my life. If I see him again, it'll be too soon.

Good thing not to hold on to resentment. It festers inside. I have a big problem with that admittedly.

1984 was a really powerful book! I remember not completely understanding it when I first read it as a kid because I was still in that brainwashed mode. Had more appreciation for it later on in life.

Sent you a reply PM. My book started the publishing process not too long ago.
