    1) Although this may not be the case for you, the incentive system of Jannah/Jahannam is essentially an appeal to consequences, so it is inherently unsound. It is possible for an ex-Muslim to still have an irrational fear of Jahannam due to hard-wired indoctrination.

A lot of ex-something have irrational fear of the hereafter, despite intelectually not believing in it. I know of ex-JW who still 10-15 years after their apostasy have nightmares of Ahrmageddon. Since my apostasy came gradually, almost "sneaking", over the course of several years (without me or anyone else really noticing), the whole god-thing and jahannam was so over-played when finally just dropping everything, that I just found it silly. Maybe that's why people saw my ridda as so dramatic "out of nowhere". Had they known what was going on inside they would've known better. I'm the type of person who keeps on going till the very end, for better or worse Roll Eyes

Once I fully realised Islam was a load of bollocks and the idea of Hell so absurd it was easy to let go. Having said that, it was months of absolute agony before I came to the realisation. Wouldn't wish it on anyone.

Don't read all those science books bro, you'll just get more confused.

That's funny. The more science I read, the less confused I get.
