    Being ex-muslim doesn't mean losing the traditions you love. If atheist/nonreligious people of christian cultural background can make Christmas their own, no reason atheist/nonreligious people of muslim cultural background can't make eid their own.

    Secularise the tradition, then all people regardless of whether they Muslim or not can get involved as they do with Holi and Christmas. It is wayyy more inclusive.

    About Eid ul Adha - the whole sacrificing a child thing grinds my gears, other than that party on down.

    Today: Starting to chop out a bit of wasteland someone has lent me to raise plants on. Digging up and planting banana suckers. Beer later.

    Tomorrow: Going to Himeji with my Mrs and a friend (both shoemakers) to look at a leather tannery. Then a visit to  the castle, I hope.

    Eid al-Ad'ha is coming. No I am not happy with this stupid celebration but my families and relatives will be celebrating it so I also have to help them preparing for Eid  Roll Eyes
