Go ahead, Ted. Blow our minds with your extensive knowledge and groundbreaking discoveries. The scientific community is waiting with pens in hand to capture your wisdom. Text book writers across this great land are just dying with anticipation.

Don’t toy with us any longer, Ted. Lay out your theory for us here in detail.

Ground breaking discoveries are being made all the time if you had cared to look. But why should you care?

    So what is it Ted?
something is really bothering you Ted...
Is it what is said in books that were written some 1000s of years ago by folks who lived in caves and thought their "god did everything" and has control on everything??

Well done bogart. Good to see you are making an effort to understand rather than make useless remarks like some here.

Let's say the rocket went up 10,000m and there was no air/atmosphere on the earth. The rocket goes vertically up above position X on earth with no horizontal force being applied to keep it directly above position X. After 12 hours is the rocket still directly above position X?

I am done with you Poe.

Here's a game where even an idiot like Ted can learn about how gravity works, how rockets work, and how orbits work, all while having fun!

You won nothing, do not kid yourself. You never provided any argument for your position. All you have done is made arguments from ignorance, nothing more. You have not made a single argument with any support. I am just ending a dialogue with a poe or a moron, take your pick. Nothing more.

    Welcome to ignore.

PS The answer is the same. It is called inertia.

    Quote
The rocket will maintain it's position since it does not create sufficient force to counter the inertia of the Earth's rotation

You are quite stupid to not understand inertia does not require air. Newtons law of motion work in space and on a planet. Atmosphere or no atmosphere. Did you see me say air did anything at all?

    Lol.

I was trying to take it step by step to make it simple to understand.

The speed of the rocket is faster when it's 100000m above the earth if the rocket remains over X. Question is where does the rocket get it's extra speed from if not from the atmosphere?

question is...."Question is.......   where does the rocket get it's extra speed from if not from the atmosphere?."

dear Ted.... dearest Teddy.. you know the answer.. don't you??

So the answer is   .." the extra speed for that rocket/space craft /Geostationary satellite...... whatever ....  comes from allah/god...  ..heeeeeeeee  pushes it around...

Or even, as Galileo observed, moons orbiting other planets. Why would moons be orbiting those planets, if Earth is the center of the universe? The neat thing is, Ted could observe those moons for himself if he were to purchase or build a small telescope and go outside of city lights to where it's pretty dark. Galileo used a telescope with 20x magnifying ability, and he observed the moons every night for three months and charted their locations each night, to prove that the moons were orbiting Jupiter. The great thing about science is that other people can examine and use your method to prove or disprove your observations and hypothesis.

So, Ted can go get a telescope and test how well it works by, for example, writing on a sheet of paper and hanging the paper at a known distance, then seeing how many cubits (length of space equal to distance from elbow to middle finger; approx. 46 cm) from the paper he can read it both without his telescope and using his telescope. If he can read it at 1 cubit without the telescope and 20 cubits with his telescope, then he has found a telescope he can observe the Galilean moons with. Then he can go observe Jupiter for three months and chart what he sees.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for I have a sonic screwdriver, a tricorder, and a Type 2 phaser.

Ignorance and arrogance do that. Especially when he claims to be teaching me anything when I proved him wrong in both sets of his questions and science then claims a victory. If I am proving him wrong then I am teaching him. Too bad he is incompetent to the point that he does not understand that. Hence why he is either a moron or a poe. A poe would do this for the reaction since they need reactions from other people to bolster their self worth. A moron would do this since they are incompetent by definition. It is one or the other.

Bogart, it seems like you are losing your mind. Maybe it this forum?

Where have you answered the above question? You're either deliberately avoiding the question because you don't know or just don't want to be proven wrong or you're just losing the plot.

Seems like you guys never really studied the Quran/Bible properly.

I know where you are all coming from when think what is this crazy believer on about. Trust me when I say this but we live in a very strange reality. Not everything is as it seems.

The ice-caps is more to do with weather/climate. Weather is a "divine" process. No computer modelling or understanding of  science will ever bring us to predicting weather. The weather you see is not obeying natural laws hence you can never predict weather. Bizarre? Yes I know but forget that for now and see where the science leads you. The science won't lie.

The interesting thing about the ice-caps is that the physics doesn't really work. Thin air doesn't explain coldnesss. Imagine having a green house. Take the air out and make it just as thin as at higher altitude. Will the inside of the green house form ice?

Apart from that not being entirely true, it is literally an argument from ignorance. Like, literally.

Call it whatever you want. There's nothing that's gonna make you guys believe. I've already accepted that.

Just funny to see you guys squirm with the science. This is going to go the same way it did with "dust forming stars and planets" assumption, ie scientists will figure it out in the future.
