No sorry, being cyptic doesn't help explain anything.

The one thing I hate more than anything is people who act all cryptic and don;t come straight out and clarify whatever point they are trying to make.

JackTorrance, Why are you called Jack Torrance? I could have used as my screen name xyz, or abc, or Ahdullah Mohammed, or Abdul, or Superman, or anything else. It is only a screen name so that when I post, you know that it is my reply and not xyz's reply. It is my tag, my anonymous tag, a non-descript tag. As you do not question sojournerlumus why he chose that screen name, because that is what he wanted, I dont ask why Hassan 1 chose to use Hassan1 instead of HassanX do I? That is his choice and he must have a reason for it. I have my reasons as well, it is the name of my pet but abbreviated.

Ooooh, touchy, I just wondered because you have said you are male and yet it is a girl's name. Now I know it was the name of your beloved pet, it all makes sense now - and I'm sorry for agitating, what still must be, a painful memory. I chose Jack Torrance for two reasons, one of them, interestingly enough, also pet related:

    1) I like the film the Shining and the main character was a lovely chap called JT.

    2) I used to have a pet snake called JT. He will be dead now, having escaped over fourteen years ago. But just thinking about him brings a tear to my eye, so perhaps I can see your reticence in answering my question after all.  Now I must go and bury my cat. cool2

    Ha Ha.

I've done that loads of times. I've got a somewhat feisty Jack Russell with a marked cat intolerance. Still, keeps me fit.

Not even if it kept you in cats (admittedly dead, but nobody's perfect) for life.

You'd be better off eating the cat than Russelling Jack. Wink

I had a cat that would gladly eat any dog that got too close. He had no problem standing up to Pit bull/Chow mixes or Australian Shepherds, and slapping them around. Of course he was around 30 pounds, and not much was fat. He died earlier this year.  Smiley

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I remain.

As someone whp knows all about pets, Elle, I wondered if you knew whether it was against the law or not to eat dogs in this country? I don't mean on a commericial level, just at home, very, very occassionally, I might add. The dogs I eat are strays, so it's not like anyone will miss them or anything, in fact, I feel I'm actually doing them a service. What are the legal impications, do you know? Obviously, ethically, it is the right thing to do, but I'm never sure about legalities. Thank you in advnace for your answer Ellie. Afro
