Near Death Experience ?
OP - February 20, 2009, 10:08 PM
Hi Y'all, I'm just back from the dead. I think this must be a first for this forum, eh?
I had 4 massive angina attacks in a day, a week last Monday, the last one of which was in A & E luckily. When I keeled over in there I got the full treatment since my blood pressure almost fell off the scale, down to 64/42 and falling. So I got the atropine and adrenalin but pulled out of almost total unconsciousness by telling myself to fight. I seemed to be trapped in a big, diffuse bubble of light that kept fading and waxing again, although my eyesight had gone.
I could hear faint disembodied voices in the distance saying stuff like 'It's down, it's down, it's down.' 'Reading?' '64/42'. 'Give it now'. 'he's steady, he's steady'.
So, although they had fastened the defibrilator pads on ready, they didn't have to use them. Ah, well, maybe I'll get to experience that next time.
Anyway, after 9 days in hospital, I'm home again and awaiting an angioplasty with stent, after which I'm told, I might even get back to some jogging. My heart, it seems, is undamaged.
I just want you all to know that it wasn't painful, just 'heavy', and I didn't get to see St Peter or Old Nick. If that's what death is like, then I'm not afraid of it.
