This site says he's to be referred to as a man, although he's not exclusively male. But there's no basis to believe that Holy Poltergeist
is the female member of the trio.
www.gotquestions.org/Holy-Spirit-gender.htmlP.S. This site says some peculiar stuff, like all apologetics. It says:
As a man comes into a woman from without to make her pregnant, so God creates the universe from without rather than birthing it from within . . . As a woman cannot impregnate herself, so the universe cannot create itself. So Universe is the woman?Man makes baby with woman, God makes Universe with whom? And woman theoretically
can impregnate herself, it happens in some creatures, its called parthenogenesis, but it hasn't been observed in humans as yet. Its the man who can't create by himself.
That's a bloody interesting point , Rashna. As far as I know, (Anybody knows more, please let me know), parthenogenesis occurs up to reptilian level (Komodo dragons and tortoises). In mammals we find the hyoid cyst phenomen which may be a related syndrome.
Up to amphibian level, it's certainly the case that all an egg needs to start cell division is a scratch on the cell's outer membrane to produce a fully functional hatchling. this can also be the case with some primitive reptiles.
As we all know, many things can go wrong in both unfertilised and fertilised egg cells: twins are a classic example and even incompletely separated twinned embryos are capable of survival after birth.
For those who don't know, a hyoid or ovarian cyst is a mammalian egg that starts to divide without having been fertilised and develops into a partially differentiated ball of cells, up to 4 kg in weight, having hair, teeth and other recognisable structural features, whilst the rest of it is a scrambled mess. This may be a regressive characteristic in mammals.
Of course we're all au fait with the workings of cloning too.
